What is the Batavi Marina Chronograaf?
Batavi, described by Fratello as a Dutch watch brand, presents the Marina Chronograaf as a colorful interpretation of a classic chronograph. It pairs a stainless-steel case with a layered dial and a hand-wound mechanical movement. Fratello’s Daan de Groot reported on the collection on July 7, 2025, including a hands-on assessment of the watch.
The dial uses a sandwich construction: a colored lower layer sits beneath a transparent upper layer. The hour markers, minute track, logo and model name are printed on that upper layer, while openings reveal two sub-dials with concentric-grained surfaces.
Which dial colors are available?
Fratello’s introduction describes four variants. Their defining differences are color and, on Sunrise, numeral style.

What movement and functions does it have?
The reported movement is a hand-wound Seagull ST1901, specified at 21,600 vibrations per hour and 21 jewels. The watch displays hours, minutes and small seconds, and its chronograph has a central seconds hand and a 30-minute register.
Fratello’s specification block states a 50-hour power reserve with the chronograph off and 45 hours with it running. The accompanying prose describes the reserve as 45 or 50 hours depending on chronograph use; these are the source’s stated figures, not an independent measurement.

How large is the case, and what is the bracelet like?
Fratello reports a 38 mm diameter, 46 mm lug-to-lug length and 13.5 mm thickness, with the thickness including the domed sapphire crystal. The stainless-steel case combines polished and brushed finishes. Its back is sapphire and stainless steel.

De Groot characterized the watch as compact for a mechanical chronograph and said the bracelet links articulate well. Those are the author’s hands-on impressions, not a guarantee of fit for every wrist.

Is the Marina Chronograaf water-resistant?
