The H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Tourbillon Burgundy is reference 3805-0400, an automatic flying-tourbillon watch distinguished by its burgundy fumé dial and khaki rubber strap. The brand lists it at CHF 59,900 excluding VAT. Two important specifications are not consistent across the brand’s product page and launch coverage: the movement calibre and case material. Here is what is established—and what prospective buyers should verify.
What is the Pioneer Tourbillon Burgundy?
Reference 3805-0400 is a Pioneer-family watch centered on a burgundy fumé dial and a flying tourbillon. H. Moser & Cie. presents the Pioneer line for city and outdoor use, pairing the watch’s dressier complication with a rubber strap and a stated 12 ATM water-resistance rating. That positioning is the manufacturer’s description, not a claim that the watch is suited to every activity or environment. H. Moser & Cie.’s product page and Hodinkee’s 2025 launch coverage identify the model.
Design and wear
The burgundy fumé dial is the defining visual detail. Applied faceted indices and leaf-shaped hands provide the display, with Super-LumiNova on the indices and hands according to the brand. A khaki rubber strap gives the watch a more casual, sporty contrast than a matching precious-metal bracelet or leather strap would.
Tourbillon and movement: an unresolved specification
The brand’s descriptive copy and Hodinkee identify the movement as HMC 805, an automatic calibre with a double-hairspring flying tourbillon. However, the technical specification table on the same official product page names HMC 804. The brand narrative says HMC 805 replaces HMC 804, but that does not remove the contradiction in the page’s listed specifications. Treat HMC 805 as the movement identified in the descriptive copy and launch report, not as a discrepancy-free current specification.

H. Moser & Cie. describes the tourbillon as a rotating arrangement of the regulating organ and escapement intended to counter positional effects of gravity. That is the maker’s explanation of the mechanism; it should not be read as a guarantee that this watch will outperform other watches in everyday accuracy.
Case, dimensions and water resistance
The reported diameter is 40 mm. Case material is less clear: Hodinkee’s launch report identifies 5N red gold, while the official product page’s technical table lists steel. Because the official page also conflicts over the calibre, verify the case material with H. Moser & Cie. or an authorized retailer before relying on it for a purchase.
Rank #2
- Case Width: 39mm
- Lug Width: 20mm
- Crystal: Anti-Reflective Sapphire Crystal
The brand’s page lists 12 ATM water resistance, and Hodinkee also reports 12 ATM. This is the stated rating; it does not by itself establish suitability for any particular water activity. The listed power reserve is 72 hours, or three days, on the brand page, with Hodinkee likewise reporting a three-day reserve.
Price and availability
H. Moser & Cie.’s product listing gives a price of CHF 59,900 excluding VAT. Forbes reported a US launch price of $65,900 in 2025; that is a launch figure, not a verified current US price. The brand page offers information and reservation actions, and Hodinkee reported the watch available at launch and not limited. Current stock and regional pricing can change, so check directly with the brand or an authorized retailer.

How it differs from the Arctic Blue variant
H. Moser & Cie. lists the Pioneer Tourbillon Arctic Blue, reference 3804-1208, as a related variant. The supported distinction here is straightforward: the Burgundy is ref. 3805-0400 with a burgundy fumé dial; the Arctic Blue uses a different reference and a blue dial. The available specifications do not establish a complete current comparison of their case materials, movements, prices or availability, so those details should be checked separately rather than assumed to match.
