The Hermès Cut is a 36 mm automatic watch built around a softly squared, cushion-like case and an integrated-style bracelet. Fratello Watches’ April 11, 2024 review describes its shape, quick-change bracelet and rubber straps, and Vaucher-made movement; its technical details and prices below are attributed to that dated review, not presented as a current Hermès specification or price list.
What gives the Hermès Cut its distinctive shape?
At first glance, the Cut looks round. Look closer and the case becomes subtly cushion-shaped: its flanks, top, and bottom are flattened, with polished surfaces helping define the “cut” profile. Fratello measured the case at 36 mm across and 10 mm thick; its 42 mm measurement runs from the ends of the integrated end links, rather than describing the case alone.

The crown is at the upper-right and is push/pull, according to the review. Fratello describes the 36 mm model as unisex while noting that Hermès listed it as a women’s watch at the time; that catalog characterization is the article’s account, not a verified current listing.
What versions, dial, and movement does the review describe?
Fratello describes four material and bezel configurations: two in all steel and two combining steel with rose gold. In each material group, one version has a bezel set with 56 diamonds.

The reviewed watch has an opaline silver dial, applied luminous numerals, orange five-minute markers on the inner chapter ring, and an orange dot on the seconds hand. The review says the dot and luminous material on the hands glow in the dark.
Inside is automatic caliber H1912, developed and manufactured by Vaucher. Fratello reports 28 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and a 50-hour power reserve. It also describes perlage on the mainplate and a sapphire exhibition case back.

What are the bracelet and quick-change strap details?
The steel bracelet uses H-shaped links and a push-button butterfly clasp. A ridged button on the back of the end links releases either the bracelet or rubber strap. Fratello quotes the reviewer, Daan de Groot: “I almost feel like any contemporary watch should have such a feature by now.”
The review reports a bracelet width of 21 mm at the case, tapering to 18 mm at the clasp. The rubber strap tapers to 17 mm at its buckle, where a quick-release pin in the signed buckle allows a change at that end. The article names eight rubber colors:

The quick-change description concerns the watch’s bracelet and straps; it does not establish compatibility with third-party straps.
How does it wear, and what about water resistance?
The reviewer says the Cut fit comfortably on his 17 cm wrist. That is one person’s experience, not a fit guarantee. A reader comment wondered whether larger wrists might need extra bracelet links, but the comment does not establish the bracelet’s sizing range or whether additional links are available.

Fratello reports water resistance of 10 bar (100 metres), while noting that the case back itself does not state the figure. Because this is a review rather than current official care guidance, consult Hermès documentation for activity-specific advice rather than treating the rating as a swimming or diving recommendation.

Fratello places the Cut in the integrated-bracelet conversation and compares its launch-era pricing with the Louis Vuitton Tambour, for which it reported a €19,500 minimum at the time. That historical comparison should not be read as a current price comparison; the review does not provide a consistent data set for ranking the Cut against other watches.
