What is the Paulin Mara?
Paulin describes the Mara as a dive watch, and launch coverage from Fratello identifies it as the brand’s first diver. Its design leans into Paulin’s graphic identity: the brand says the bespoke Wim typeface informs its geometric hour markers and emphasis on clarity. The name, Paulin says, comes from a Scots Gaelic word meaning “of the sea.”
The catalogue lists blue and black versions. The detailed specifications and price below are for Mara Blue; confirm the corresponding listing before assuming every detail or price applies to the black version.

Case size and wrist fit
The 39.7mm diameter gives a useful starting point, but the 48mm lug-to-lug measurement and 13.5mm thickness also matter when judging how the watch will sit. T3’s hands-on reviewer discusses the 48mm span in relation to fit; that is one reviewer’s experience, not a guarantee for every wrist. If possible, compare those dimensions with a watch you already find comfortable or try the Mara on in person.

Movement, construction and dive-watch details
The listed calibre is the La Joux-Perret G101. Fratello’s 2025 launch coverage reports a 68-hour power reserve, 28,800 vibrations per hour and 24 jewels. Paulin lists a screw-down crown, closed caseback and 30ATM (300-metre) water resistance, alongside the unidirectional bezel and luminous details.
Those are the manufacturer’s stated specifications, not a substitute for checking the watch’s condition, seals and service history if buying pre-owned. Water-resistance ratings also do not establish that an individual watch remains water-resistant after wear, impact or servicing.

Paulin includes two 20mm straps: a custom injection-moulded rubber option and a fabric strap made from recycled fishing nets, lined with Italian Alcantara faux suede. The 20mm measurement describes the strap width; check the watch’s attachment and compatibility details before buying replacements rather than assuming every Paulin strap fits.
