The KUDOKE 5 tells the time with a hand-engraved disc that makes one rotation every 24 hours. Read the golden triangle on the disc’s night side against the surrounding 24-hour scale: the disc’s position shows where the day has progressed, while its contrasting day and night sections give that position a celestial context. It is a different reading convention from a conventional hour-and-minute display.
How do you read the KUDOKE 5’s rotating celestial disc?
Instead of moving hour and minute hands, the KUDOKE 5 uses a large domed disc as its main time display. The disc completes one turn in 24 hours. The surrounding rhodinized chapter ring provides the scale, and a golden triangle on the disc’s night side acts as the pointer. Read that marker against the ring to follow the time through the day.
The disc’s contrasting finishes distinguish its day and night areas; its position makes the progression of the full 24-hour cycle visible. The upper visible part of the disc also serves as the hour indication, as described by independent coverage. This is a display designed around one continuous 24-hour cycle, not the familiar separate hour and minute hands.
What is the disc made of, and how does it rotate?
KUDOKE describes the dial as silvered and frosted, with a rhodinized 24-hour chapter ring. The large, hand-engraved domed disc is electroplated in yellow gold, black, and white rhodium. These finishes create the celestial day-and-night appearance while keeping the marker and scale central to reading the display.

According to the 2025 official release, a special ball bearing containing small zirconia balls supports the disc. KUDOKE says this arrangement is intended to minimize friction without lubrication; that is the maker’s description of the mechanism, not an independently measured performance claim.

These are specifications published by KUDOKE in its 2025 release, rather than independent test results. The 38 mm diameter is only one part of fit: the listed 47 mm lug-to-lug and 12 mm total height, including the domed crystal, help describe the watch’s footprint and profile.

Launch price and availability context
KUDOKE’s 2025 official release stated a price of €17,900 excluding VAT. Time and Watches likewise reported €17,900 excluding local taxes in its May 2025 coverage. These are launch-era price statements, not confirmation of current stock or a universal tax-inclusive price; local taxes, currency, retailer, and date can affect what a buyer is quoted.
Shellman’s April 1, 2025 news item reports that KUDOKE announced the model in March 2025, and its product listing gives Japanese purchase context. Retailer stock and pricing may change, so check the seller’s current listing and applicable taxes before treating any displayed amount as a current offer.

The KUDOKE 5 is built around a single 24-hour display. Anyone comparing it with another watch should consider whether that reading convention suits their habits, alongside legibility, case dimensions, movement and power reserve, finishing, water resistance, and a locally tax-inclusive price. Its display is deliberately different from conventional hour-and-minute hands; the available specifications do not establish a precision disadvantage.
