The Kurono Grand Jubilee Calendar is a Japan-made, limited-release dress watch with a salmon-toned guilloché dial and a month, day and date display. Hajime Asaoka designed it for his 60th Diamond Jubilee. Kurono’s original product page lists the watch as sold out and says the limited production will not be repeated.
What is the Kurono Grand Jubilee Calendar?
Introduced in 2025, the Grand Jubilee Calendar is a triple-calendar watch: it shows the month, day of the week and date, as well as hours, minutes and seconds. Kurono presented it as a celebratory complication for independent Japanese watchmaker Hajime Asaoka’s 60th Diamond Jubilee.
Its salmon-colored dial has vertical guilloché, with the month and day in recessed subdials and the date in a separate circular recess. Kurono attributes the color to Asaoka’s memory of red fallen leaves seen through frost in a small Tokyo park during winter. The crown has a black onyx cabochon, and the hands have an onyx-like black finish. A gold-plated steel medallion engraved with Asaoka’s hanko appears on the caseback. Kurono’s product page gives the design details and Asaoka’s account of the inspiration; Monochrome Watches’ October 10, 2025 launch coverage also describes the dial’s texture and recessed displays.
Why the date sits in a recess
Asaoka says the design addresses a legibility problem with an earlier approach, where the date disc rotated well below the dial surface. The Grand Jubilee Calendar places the date window inside a circular recess. Kurono says the recessed arrangement is intended to make the dial look thinner; the guilloché pattern also shapes the sunken month and day areas.

Kurono’s 2025 release page lists an original global price of US$2,380, excluding VAT and duties. The online order window began October 17, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. JST. The page currently marks the watch “SOLD OUT” and says the limited production will not be repeated. Kurono does not state the production quantity on that page.

That launch information does not establish a current resale price or whether a particular secondary-market listing is active. A Sotheby’s search result identifies a Grand Jubilee Calendar auction lot, but it does not verify present inventory or a realized price.
What owners should know before adjusting the calendar
Kurono specifically advises owners not to change the month when the date window shows 31. Follow the manufacturer’s operating guidance for calendar adjustments rather than forcing the controls; consult Kurono or a qualified watchmaker if you are unsure of the correct setting procedure.

Replacing the strap
The supplied calf-leather strap measures 20 mm at the lugs and tapers to 16 mm at the buckle. A replacement must fit the 20 mm lug width, while the narrower buckle end matters if you intend to reuse the original buckle. Check the attachment and buckle compatibility before ordering; the lug measurement alone does not establish that every 20 mm strap will fit the rest of the setup.
