Its calendar components were removed to preserve the dial design. Kurono lists it as sold out and says the finite release will not be repeated.
Made for Hajime Asaoka’s 60th Diamond Jubilee, the watch pairs decorative dial work with a discontinued movement supply. The original global price was US$2,230 excluding VAT and duties; that is historical launch pricing, not a current secondary-market valuation.

What “Shiraai” means
Kurono presents “白藍” (Shiraai) as “white indigo.” The dial takes its color from a Shiraai fabric sample, but it is not made by traditional indigo dyeing: according to Asaoka’s account on Kurono’s product page, the dial maker used a soft lacquer finish with pigments and Prussian blue as a substitute. Asaoka also describes the shade as “Hokusai Blue.”
The metallic baby-blue dial combines a radiating chrysanthemum-like wave guilloché pattern, railway-track detailing around the edge, polished steel hour domes, and black Kanji markers. Its recessed power-reserve indicator uses a Sensu, or Japanese folding-fan, pattern. A black onyx cabochon crown adds contrast.

How the Sensu power-reserve display works
The Sensu display indicates remaining power reserve; it is not a date or calendar display. Kurono says the modified Cal.9133PWT has its calendar window and associated gear train removed to preserve the intended dial design. Independent watch coverage identifies the base caliber as Miyota 9133, a date-capable movement.
This is a modification of an existing movement, not a newly invented calibre. The watch’s movement story is the use of a discontinued Cal.9133 base adapted for a date-free dial and power-reserve indication.

Release, price, and availability
Kurono’s listed global price was US$2,230 excluding VAT and duties, with a Japan price of ¥328,680 including Japanese VAT. Online ordering opened on May 22, 2025, at 11:00 and 23:00 Japan Standard Time. Salon preorder dates were May 15–22, 2025, and expected deliveries were scheduled from June 2025. These are historical launch details.
The official product page currently marks the watch sold out and says it will not be repeated. Kurono describes it as limited production but does not publish a production quantity in the consulted material. “Finite, non-repeatable release” is supported; a numbered edition size or guaranteed resale premium is not. No current secondary-market price is established here.

Strap fit and ownership
The watch has 20mm lugs and was supplied with a calf-leather strap. If replacing it, start with a 20mm watch strap and verify the strap’s thickness, spring-bar clearance, and buckle compatibility before buying.
Its 5 ATM water resistance is a reason to use ordinary water caution rather than treat it as a swimming watch. For a sold-out example, check condition and provenance carefully. Ask for clear photographs and available purchase documentation, and confirm any servicing or replacement of parts. Do not assume that a seller’s “limited” description means a published numbered edition.
