The Louis Moinet Around the World in Eight Days Unique Set is a one-off collection of eight watches, each devoted to a city on an itinerary from Paris to New York. What is the Louis Moinet Around the World in Eight Days set?
It is a collection of eight individually themed watches inspired by Jules Verne’s around-the-world story. The itinerary runs from Paris through Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Tokyo and San Francisco to New York. Rather than offering eight different movements, Louis Moinet gives the watches a common mechanical foundation and makes each dial the focal point of its city-specific design.

The Paris and Tokyo pieces illustrate the collection’s range particularly clearly: the Paris dial combines a physical Eiffel Tower fragment with a complex map, while Tokyo’s folded-metal crane brings origami into the watch’s miniature scene. In Europa Star’s April 2024 account, Louis Moinet owner and creative director Jean-Marie Schaller said he acquired a real Eiffel Tower fragment from a beam replaced during the structure’s centenary.
What movement and specifications do the watches share?
The eight watches use the manually wound Louis Moinet LM135. Its flying tourbillon is the collection’s principal complication; the dial displays hours and minutes. Fondation Haute Horlogerie and Monochrome report these shared specifications:

The technical figures are published specifications, not results from an independent performance test. The 30 m water-resistance rating is a modest everyday splash-protection specification, not an indication that the watches are intended for swimming or diving.
