The Mido Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer pairs a vintage-inspired dive-watch dial with a GMT hand and a rotating bezel marked with major cities. Mido lists it in black (reference M026.829.17.051.00) and blue (reference M026.829.17.041.00), with a 40.5 mm case, an 80-hour maximum power reserve and water resistance rated to 20 bar.
Two dial variants, one core specification
Mido’s U.S. product listings identify two versions. The black model is reference M026.829.17.051.00; the blue model is M026.829.17.041.00. Both U.S. listings give the same case size and price. Mido’s black-model page and blue-model page provide the variant details.
| Variant | Reference | U.S. listed price |
|---|---|---|
| Black | M026.829.17.051.00 | $1,490 on Mido’s U.S. product listing; availability and price can change. |
| Blue | M026.829.17.041.00 | $1,490 on Mido’s U.S. product listing; availability and price can change. |
Mido’s international listing for the black reference shows CHF 1,270 including VAT. That is a region-specific listed price, not a direct currency conversion or a promise of current availability. The U.S. pages showed the models as out of stock in search results at the time the listings were checked; confirm stock and price with Mido or a retailer before buying. Mido’s international black-model listing gives the Swiss price.
What the name means: a decompression dial and GMT display
The most distinctive feature is the bright, multicolored decompression table on the dial. Mido says the design recalls its 1960s Ocean Star Skin Diver, including the original-style table and applied, polished logo. The modern watch also uses a sapphire crystal in a glassbox style intended to evoke the profile of period plexiglas. These are Mido’s descriptions of the design lineage, rather than an independently verified historical comparison. Mido’s launch article explains the design references.

For travel time, the watch combines a GMT function with a red arrow that Mido describes as the travel-time indicator. Its aluminum rotating bezel is marked with major cities. The product listing specifies date and GMT functions; the launch article presents the city bezel as a world-time feature. The “Worldtimer” name should not be taken to imply a more elaborate mechanism than those stated features establish.
Movement, case and water resistance
Mido lists an automatic movement with date and GMT, up to 80 hours of power reserve, and water resistance to 20 bar (200 m/660 ft). Its launch article identifies the movement as Calibre 80 and says it has a Nivachron balance spring, which Mido says is intended to resist magnetism and shock. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independently tested performance results.

The black variant’s international product page lists a weight of 220 g. Mido does not state a corresponding weight for the blue variant in the cited listing. The 20-bar rating is the manufacturer’s published specification; it does not by itself establish suitability for every kind of diving or replace appropriate use and maintenance.
Straps and fit
Mido says an additional strap is included. Its launch article describes a textured rubber strap and a Milanese mesh option, with a click-button system for changing straps. The product listings give a 21 mm lug width, but that measurement alone does not confirm that an arbitrary third-party strap will fit the model’s attachment system. Check compatibility for the exact reference before ordering a replacement.
