The new Cuervo y Sobrinos Chronograph Emilio Carranza, reference 3201.1EC, is a 2025 aviation-themed automatic chronograph in a 44 mm stainless steel case. Launch coverage pairs a black, cockpit-inspired dial with a Valjoux 7750 movement and reports a price of EUR 4,500 including tax. The reference number matters here: the brand’s official website lists a differently named watch, the Vuelo Emilio Carranza 3201.1CN, and it should not be confused with this model.
Which watch this is, and which one it is not
The brand’s official site currently surfaces a model called “Vuelo Emilio Carranza,” reference 3201.1CN, which is a GMT watch with a different movement and price. The 3201.1EC is a chronograph. The two share a name theme and a dedicated aviation connection, but nothing else is interchangeable. The table below sets out what each source establishes for each reference.

Keep the full reference in any search, listing or purchase request. A query for “Emilio Carranza” alone will return both watches and prices that do not belong together.

What the movement figures mean in practice
A beat rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour is the standard 4 Hz rate, which gives the balance a steady, relatively quick oscillation. The 48-hour power reserve is the length of time the movement runs after it is fully wound or stopped, so a watch worn daily and removed for two days will still be running when put back on, provided it has been wound or worn enough beforehand. The Valjoux 7750 is reported as an automatic chronograph, meaning the rotor winds the mainspring from wrist motion and the chronograph functions are added on top of a standard movement.
Design and the aviation theme
Launch coverage says the chronograph honors Mexican aviator Emilio Carranza and takes its design cues from 1920s cockpit instruments. The aviation signals are concrete rather than decorative: luminous Arabic indices in the style of instrument markings, a propeller-shaped small-seconds hand at 9 o’clock, and aircraft imagery engraved on the watch. The sources do not supply a detailed flight chronology, so the watch’s connection to Carranza should be read as a design tribute rather than a historical account.

Where the sources disagree
Most figures for this watch come from a single launch article. Two secondary references report different numbers, and they should be weighed separately.
Case thickness: 13.8 mm or 12.1 mm
Monochrome Watches reports a case thickness of 13.8 mm. A Chrono24 seller listing for the 3201.1EC gives 12.1 mm and also describes the chronograph counters differently from the launch article. The launch article is the more detailed primary description, but no manufacturer confirmation of either figure was found. Thickness determines how the watch sits under a shirt cuff, so if that matters, measure a watch in person or ask an authorized dealer for the figure before buying.

|---|---|---|
| Monochrome Watches | EUR 4,500 including tax | Launch price, 2025, market-specific |

None of these is a verified current universal price. The EUR figure is a launch-era number for a specific market, and the CHF figures are not reconciled with it. Treat any price as provisional until an authorized dealer quotes it in your currency.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Buying and checking before you purchase
- Confirm the reference is 3201.1EC on the paperwork or the seller’s listing, and not 3201.1CN.
- Check current stock with an authorized Cuervo y Sobrinos dealer. The search did not establish a current retailer listing for the 3201.1EC.
- If buying from a marketplace such as Chrono24, check the seller’s record and compare the stated case thickness with the launch figure of 13.8 mm.
- Do not buy a replacement strap on the assumption that it fits. Lug width was not confirmed in the available sources, so measure the lugs before ordering.
Those steps are the practical difference between buying the 3201.1EC you were looking for and buying a similarly named watch at a different price.
