The launch range spans 25, 28, 29, and 41 mm, with quartz movements in the two smaller sizes and automatic movements in the 29 and 41 mm models. Materials, dial treatments, diamond details, and movements vary by reference.
What makes the meteorite dial different?
The dial material is Muonionalusta meteorite, not a printed pattern intended to imitate one. Omega says each slice has a natural pattern unique to it; on the product page for reference 131.55.28.60.99.006, the brand states that “no two dials are ever the same.” That means product photographs can convey a watch’s general colour and finish, but not the exact pattern of the individual watch you receive. Omega’s Constellation Meteorite catalogue identifies Muonionalusta as the material and describes the slices’ natural patterns.

Fratello’s 2024 launch coverage describes Muonionalusta as more than 4.5 billion years old and possibly Earth’s oldest known meteorite. That geological description is attributed to Fratello’s account, rather than independently established by the Omega product information cited here.
How the 2024 range is organized
The launch coverage and Omega’s catalogue list four case sizes. The movement split follows size in the reported launch range, but the exact calibre should still be checked against the individual reference.
#1 Best Overall
- Diameter: 41mm
- Case Form: Circular
- Clasp: Deployant
- Material: Stainless Steel
- Dial: Blue Meteorite
| Case size | Movement in the 2024 launch coverage | What to check by reference |
|---|---|---|
| 25 mm | Quartz, calibre 4061 | Case and bracelet material, dial treatment, and diamond details. |
| 28 mm | Quartz, calibre 4061 | Case and bracelet material, dial treatment, and diamond details. Omega’s product description for 131.55.28.60.99.006 specifies a genuine iron meteorite dial with a linen colour treatment and calibre 4061. |
| 29 mm | Automatic, calibre 8700 | Case and bracelet material, dial treatment, and diamond details. |
| 41 mm | Automatic, calibre 8900 or 8901, depending on model | Exact movement, gold alloy or steel, dial treatment, and whether the bezel is ceramic. |
Fratello reported the range across steel, two-tone, yellow-gold, and rose-gold combinations; its coverage identifies Moonshine Gold for the 41 mm yellow-gold variation. Omega’s catalogue describes many models as using Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibres, but that does not establish certification for every meteorite-dial reference. Confirm the specification for the particular watch rather than applying a movement or certification claim to the entire family.
How it fits into the Constellation line
Fratello’s 2024 historical account traces the Constellation collection to 1952. The design language many people associate with the modern line—the claws, scalloped case, and integrated bracelet—arrived with the Manhattan in 1982. Fratello credits Carol Didisheim as the Manhattan’s designer. The meteorite dial changes the face of that established design without making every size or material combination identical.

Which size and version should you compare?
Start with the fit, not just the diameter
The four nominal diameters range from 25 to 41 mm, but diameter alone does not determine how a watch wears. If possible, try the size on your wrist and assess the case and integrated bracelet together. The launch coverage describes diamond-set bezels and markers on the 25, 28, and 29 mm ladies’ variants, and no diamonds on the 41 mm men’s models; because details can be reference-specific, verify the exact configuration before relying on that broad distinction.
Choose the movement type you want
In the launch range, the 25 and 28 mm watches are quartz, while the 29 and 41 mm watches are automatic. Within the 41 mm size, Fratello reports calibre 8900 or 8901 depending on the model. Its 2024 description of a 41 mm Moonshine Gold model attributes a 60-hour power reserve to calibre 8901; that figure is specific to that movement, not a family-wide specification.

Compare materials and dial finishes reference by reference
Steel, two-tone, and gold options, alongside different dial colours and treatments, make the reference number essential when comparing listings. Ceramic bezels appear on some described configurations, not necessarily all. A product photograph or a model name alone may not answer every question about material, finish, or jewellery detailing, so use the exact reference to verify the specification.
Inspect the individual meteorite pattern
If the dial’s unique pattern is a deciding factor, ask to see the specific watch in person at an Omega boutique or retailer. That is a practical way to judge the particular slice rather than relying on a catalogue image; it is a buying suggestion, not an Omega requirement.

Launch-era prices and availability
Fratello’s February 2024 article reported launch-era euro prices, including €9,400 for a 25 mm stainless-steel model and a €10,400 starting price for a 41 mm steel model. Those figures are historical launch prices, not current retail guidance. The current price and availability depend on the market and exact reference; Omega’s Hong Kong catalogue is a regional reference, not a guarantee of assortment or pricing elsewhere. Its meteorite grouping should also not be confused with Omega’s separate 2025 25 and 28 mm Constellation variants featuring aventurine, lacquer, and silvery dials.
