The modern model keeps the 1,000 m rating and several visual cues, but it is not established as a one-for-one reissue of the original. Published specifications describe a 39.5 mm-wide, 15.8 mm-thick steel watch, offered in two movement configurations.
Why the C-1000 A matters
Ollech & Wajs says Joseph Ollech and Albert Wajs founded the company in Zurich in 1956. Its official history dates the Caribbean 1000 Precision to 1964 and says its monobloc “Triple-Safe” case was rated to 1,000 m (3,300 ft). Those dates and historical specifications are the brand’s account.
A 2024 article presents the C-1000 A as a 60th-anniversary tribute to that watch. Its design references include abbreviated triangular lugs, tapered hands and a bi-directional 12-hour bezel. The modern case uses a screw-down caseback; the available sources do not establish that it reproduces the original monobloc construction or is a literal reissue.
What the modern watch is like
Waqt’s 2024 coverage reports a stainless-steel case measuring 39.5 mm in diameter and 15.8 mm thick, with a published water-resistance rating of 1,000 m. That makes the watch relatively compact across the wrist but substantial in thickness. These are reported specifications, not independent test results.

The reported configuration includes a screw-down crown and caseback, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, a black dial, luminous hands and indices, and a date at 6 o’clock. The bezel rotates in both directions and uses a 12-hour scale, a layout suited to tracking a second time zone rather than the elapsed-time scale commonly found on dive bezels. Waqt shows the watch on a cadmium-yellow RAF-style nylon strap.
A 1,000 m rating is a published product specification, not a recommendation to use any individual watch for diving. The available sources do not provide model-specific operating instructions or current warranty terms for this reference.

Two movement versions: numbered first 56 and regular production
Waqt reports two C-1000 A configurations. The first 56 numbered examples use new-old-stock (NOS) ETA 2824-2 movements; regular production uses the Soprod Newton Precision P092. Master Horologer also describes the initial ETA-powered examples and later P092 models. Waqt reports the following differences:

These figures are from Waqt’s 2024 specification list, not a test of an individual watch. If the distinction matters, confirm the movement in the listing or with the seller; the model name alone does not tell you which configuration is being offered.

Strap and bracelet options
The reported supplied setup is the yellow nylon strap. Waqt says the C-1000 A is compatible with an M-Heritage bracelet, but does not establish a specific bracelet reference in the available coverage. Check the exact reference and fit with the brand or seller before buying a bracelet.
