The Petermann Bédat Reference 2941 is a platinum, monopusher split-seconds chronograph with a jumping minute counter. Its rattrapante mechanism lets the wearer record an intermediate time while the chronograph continues running, and its manually wound Calibre 202 pairs that complication with detailed hand finishing. The official edition is limited to 10 pieces; the CHF 243,000 launch-era prices published by two sources differ on whether VAT is included.
What does the split-seconds mechanism do?
A split-seconds, or rattrapante, chronograph uses two central seconds hands that start together. Pressing the split-seconds pusher stops one hand so the wearer can read an intermediate time, while the other continues to track elapsed time. Pressing it again releases the stopped hand to catch up with the moving hand.
The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) describes the Reference 2941 as a monopusher construction, with the split-seconds pusher at 10 o’clock. The maker specifies a safety mechanism intended to prevent an unintentional reset. The GPHG says the mechanism is placed on the dial side; the watchmakers associate that arrangement with reliability and greater freedom in positioning the pusher. How does the jumping minute counter work?
The maker calls it a “jumping minute counter,” while the GPHG uses “instant minute counter.” Rather than advancing gradually, the indication moves instantaneously at the minute transition, making the elapsed-minute reading easier to distinguish at that point. What distinguishes the Reference 2941’s design and movement?
Platinum case and dial
Petermann Bédat specifies a platinum case measuring 38.60 mm in diameter and 13.70 mm thick, with individually soldered stepped lugs. The dial plates are platinum and sapphire and are made by Comblémine, according to the maker. Petermann Bédat official specifications.
Calibre 202
The manually wound Calibre 202 measures 30.00 mm and comprises 339 components and 43 jewels. The maker specifies a Breguet coil balance spring, a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and a 42-hour power reserve. Its main plate and bridges are German silver. Hand-applied finishing
The maker lists Côtes de Genève, polished chamfers, sun graining and perlage, alongside black-polished steel parts. These finishing techniques give the movement a range of contrasting surface treatments; the specifications describe them as hand-applied decoration. Petermann Bédat official specifications.

How many were made, and what was the launch price?
Petermann Bédat and the GPHG describe the Reference 2941 as a limited edition of 10 pieces. The GPHG record gives a March 2023 launch date and lists CHF 243,000 including VAT.
