What makes the SPB449 a Porter Classic collaboration?
Seiko says development discussions with Porter Classic chairman Katsuyuki Yoshida and representative director Leo Yoshida began with the idea of “classic.” The partnership brings that theme into Presage’s Craftsmanship series through traditional dial work and design details drawn from earlier watch forms. The Japanese launch announcement describes Porter Classic’s aim as “永く愛用できるもの作り,” which translates as “making products intended to be cherished and used for a long time” (translation). That idea is reflected in the watch’s emphasis on enamel craft and its inclusion of two leather straps.
Black enamel dial and Laurel-inspired display
The dial is black enamel. Seiko’s official collaboration page says, “Each dial is made with outstanding artisanal skill by master enamel craftsman Mitsuru Yokosawa,” and credits Yoshida with selecting the black enamel. The finish is the central craft feature of the model.

A 24-hour subdial sits at six o’clock. Seiko says its position recalls the placement of the seconds hand on the original Laurel. Distinctive hands and numerals complete the dial, though the official description does not provide further model-specific measurements or technical tolerances.

The case has rounded, movable lugs inspired by the bows of pocket watches. On the case back, Seiko places a silhouette of Katsuyuki Yoshida alongside the individual serial number. The watch is supplied with both black and brown Cordovan straps, plus a special Jubako-style presentation box.
Seiko’s official product page identifies the movement as caliber 6R5H. Its published collaboration description does not establish case dimensions, water resistance, power reserve, or accuracy, so those specifications are not included here.
Edition size, launch date and original Japanese price
Seiko announced the SPB449 as a limited edition of 500 pieces, with availability in November 2024. Seiko Japan specified a release date of November 9, 2024, and a Japanese launch price of ¥310,200 including tax. These are historical launch details, not evidence of current stock, resale value, or pricing in other regions.
