The Raymond Weil Toccata Heritage x seconde/seconde/ turns dress-watch etiquette into a visual joke. Its two-tone-looking dial plays with the idea that a shirt cuff should hide part of a watch, while a theatrical instruction on the case back tells the wearer to wind it during a conversation. The “Raymond Says” concept is a playful prompt to know the supposed rules of elegance—and have fun with them, not a universal dress-code guide.
What is the Toccata Heritage x seconde/seconde/?
It is a limited-edition manual-winding dress watch designed by Raymond Weil with Romaric André, whose seconde/seconde/ label is known for irreverent takes on watch design. The collaboration’s “Raymond Says” idea borrows the logic of Simon Says: the watch gives instructions, and the wearer can choose whether to follow or play with them.
Raymond Weil’s official European product listing identifies the watch as reference 2280-STC-SEC01 and describes an edition of 50 pieces. The collaboration is distinct from the related Toccata Heritage Mechanical reference 2280-STC-64001, which GPHG lists as launched in September 2025. GPHG’s collection entry concerns that related model, not the seconde/seconde/ edition.
How does the watch turn cuff etiquette into a design?
The official Raymond Weil collaboration page describes a grey and anthracite dial divided into contrasting visual zones. The more concealed finish on the left side echoes the familiar dress-watch notion that a shirt cuff should cover at least half the watch. On the right, anthracite sunburst reflections and polished minute markers create a brighter, more exposed area. The brand says the dial inscriptions are vertically oriented and describes a yellow instruction at 9 o’clock.
#1 Best Overall
The dial’s exact instruction, as reproduced by Raymond Weil, is: “Dress shirt cuff should cover at least half of the watch.” It is the premise of the design joke, not a rule that every wearer must follow.
What does the case back say?
The case back carries a second instruction: “Never wind your watch while wearing it. Take it off first, then wind it in a dramatic fashion (ideally in the middle of a conversation).” The deliberately over-the-top wording continues the “Raymond Says” conceit. Its punchline is about etiquette and performance; it should not be treated as technical winding advice.

What are the specifications?
| Feature | Raymond Weil listing |
|---|---|
| Reference and edition | 2280-STC-SEC01; 50 pieces, according to the official European product listing accessed in 2026 |
| Case | Stainless steel, oval; product presentation gives 33 x 38 mm, while descriptive text gives 37.7 x 32.5 mm |
| Thickness | 6.95 mm |
| Movement | RW4100, mechanical, manual winding |
| Power reserve | 45 hours, according to the official product listing accessed in 2026 |
| Water resistance | 30 m / 3 atm, according to the official product listing accessed in 2026 |
| Case back | Screwed, with sapphire crystal |
| Strap and buckle | Black calfskin leather with alligator-style embossing; traditional stainless-steel buckle |
The two case-size formats are both given by Raymond Weil, and the listing does not explain their differing order or presentation. The watch is notably slim at 6.95 mm, which suits its dress-watch styling; the stated 30 m / 3 atm water resistance is a specification, not a reason to treat it as a swim watch.
What do the designers say about the concept?
Raymond Weil CEO Elie Bernheim described the collaboration as a way to shake up dress-watch sobriety and elegance with wit and boldness. Romaric André framed the idea as a gentle tease of “proper etiquette”: dress codes are conventions worth knowing, but also ones that can be played with. The watch’s split dial and instructions make that premise visible rather than leaving it as a slogan.
