What is the Excalibur Grande Complication RDDBEX1174?
RDDBEX1174 is a limited-edition Excalibur built around three headline complications: a minute repeater, an automatic flying tourbillon and a perpetual calendar. Roger Dubuis presents the watch as part of its 30th-anniversary story and says its first Grande Complication arrived in 2009. The brand’s launch video identifies this model with Watches and Wonders 2025.
The Maison describes the repeater as chiming the “devil’s chord.” It identifies the tourbillon as automatic and powered by a double micro-rotor; “gravity-defying precision” is the maker’s promotional description, not a published measurement. The calendar is presented biretrogradely and displays the day, date, month and leap year. Roger Dubuis says it adjusts automatically for leap years and months of 28, 30 or 31 days.

RD118 is the watch’s automatic, self-winding movement. Roger Dubuis lists 684 components, 65 jewels and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), with a stated power reserve of 60 hours. Roger Dubuis’s anniversary framing
The Maison connects the watch to its 30th anniversary and says its first Grande Complication version arrived in 2009. That timeline is the brand’s own account. The product page also attributes this statement to Mr. Roger Dubuis: “I was lucky enough to learn the complications. I think it’s the most important part of my life.”
