What is the Romain Jerome Batman-DNA?
Romain Jerome announced the watch in October 2014 as a collaboration around the Batman/DC franchise’s 75th anniversary. Contemporary coverage described an edition of 75 pieces. The original model’s reference is RJ.T.AU.WB.001.01. TimeZone’s 2014 announcement coverage and MasterHorologer’s specification report document the anniversary edition and its details.
Design and specifications
The original Batman-DNA uses a 46 mm steel case with black PVD coating. Its angular, faceted bezel surfaces were described as inspired by the Batmobile. The black dial centers on an applied Batman emblem; luminous detailing around the emblem glows blue in low light. A black hornback crocodile strap completes the look.

The movement is reported with 23 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The power-reserve figure is inconsistent across period reporting: TimeZone and MasterHorologer give 42 hours, while SJX Watches’ 2014 report gives 48 hours. The 42-hour figure appears in more of these reports, but the discrepancy is worth noting.

Batman-DNA versus Batman-DNA Gotham City
The Batman-DNA name was later used for a distinct 2016 edition called Gotham City. The reference and dial help distinguish it from the 2014 original:

The 2016 Gotham City model retained a 46 mm black PVD-coated steel case and RJ001-A automatic movement, but its sculpted skyline dial is not a feature of the original. A Blog to Watch’s 2016 coverage identifies the later model and its reference.
