The original 2021 lineup comprised four dial variants; Seiko later added a separate blue-dial limited edition, SPB303J1.
What is in the original Sharp Edged GMT collection?
Seiko introduced four references in 2021: SPB217, SPB219, SPB221 and SPB225. The official collection page gives the full J1 references below. Seiko identifies SPB225J1 as a Seiko Boutique exclusive; that designation does not establish current stock in any particular country.

These traditional color names are Seiko’s descriptions of the launch variants, not a guarantee of how every dial will appear under different lighting.
How the GMT function works
The 6R64 calibre has a GMT hand for a second time zone and a local hour hand that can be adjusted independently. Seiko says the local hour hand can be moved while the minute and seconds hands continue running. For example, when you arrive somewhere with a different local time, you can change the hour hand without stopping the watch, while leaving the GMT hand set to the other time zone you want to follow.

The dial’s two-color ring helps distinguish day from night for the time indicated by the GMT hand. The date sits at six o’clock, and the power-reserve indicator is at nine o’clock.
What defines the design?
Seiko presents the collection as a blend of Japanese craft heritage and modern, angular geometry. The official collection description emphasizes flat, sharply defined surfaces and the contrast between polished and brushed finishing. The dial pattern is Asanoha, or hemp leaf; in its 2022 announcement for SPB303J1, Seiko says the motif has appeared in Japanese textiles since the Heian period. That cultural account is Seiko’s framing.

The case dimensions and water-resistance figure describe the published product specification; they do not establish how the watch will fit a particular wrist or whether it is appropriate for a specific water activity.

How SPB303J1 differs
SPB303J1 is a later, distinct model announced in 2022, not a fifth color option in the original 2021 launch. Seiko described it as a limited edition of 900 pieces. It has a blue dial, a matching ceramic GMT bezel ring, and comes with an additional blue calfskin strap. Seiko’s 2022 brochure lists a 42.2 mm case diameter.
