The Tudor Black Bay 54 “Lagoon Blue” pairs the line’s vintage-proportioned 37 mm case with a bright, sand-textured blue dial, a mirror-polished steel bezel insert and a five-link bracelet. Introduced in June 2025, it keeps the familiar Black Bay 54 essentials: the MT5400 automatic movement, a 70-hour power reserve and 200 m water resistance.
What is the Black Bay 54 “Lagoon Blue”?
It is a blue-dial colorway of Tudor’s Black Bay 54, not a new case or movement platform. Tudor identifies the model as reference 79000; Fratello’s specification table gives the bracelet version’s full reference as M79000-0001. Its defining look comes from the light-blue dial’s granular, sand-like texture, contrasted with the reflective steel bezel insert and its 60-minute scale.
The dial has applied luminous indexes beneath a domed sapphire crystal. The steel bracelet uses five links across its width and closes with Tudor’s T-fit clasp, which allows on-the-fly micro-adjustment. Those exterior details make the Lagoon Blue visually distinct from the darker Black Bay 54 options while retaining the family’s compact proportions.
Size, water resistance and movement
| Specification | Black Bay 54 “Lagoon Blue” |
|---|---|
| Case diameter | 37 mm |
| Lug-to-lug | About 46 mm |
| Thickness | 11.2–11.24 mm, depending on the published specification |
| Water resistance | 200 m (660 ft); screw-down crown |
| Movement | Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5400, automatic, COSC-certified |
| Frequency and jewels | 28,800 vibrations per hour; 27 jewels |
| Balance spring | Silicon |
| Power reserve | Approximately 70 hours |
At 37 mm across and about 46 mm lug-to-lug, the BB54 is notably compact by contemporary dive-watch standards. The 200 m rating and screw-down crown give it substantial stated water resistance, though the rating is not a substitute for checking the crown is secured and the watch is in suitable condition before water use.

The COSC-certified MT5400 is the established mechanical core of the model. Its approximately 70-hour reserve means the watch can be set aside over a weekend and still have reserve when picked up, assuming it was sufficiently wound beforehand. The silicon balance spring is part of the movement specification; it should not be read as a guarantee of immunity to every source of magnetic interference.
What changed from other Black Bay 54 versions?
The Lagoon Blue changes the visual character and bracelet configuration rather than the core size, movement, reserve or water rating. The key comparison points are summarized below; exact prices for other versions are not established here.

In practical terms, the choice is chiefly about appearance and configuration: the Lagoon Blue is the bright, textured option with a five-link bracelet. For a direct purchase comparison, check the full reference, included bracelet or strap, and current regional price rather than assuming those details are identical across every BB54 listing.
How much did it cost at launch?
Published 2025 launch prices differed by market: Tudor and Hodinkee reported US$4,350 for the United States, Fratello reported €4,240 in Europe and £3,590 in the United Kingdom, and Tudor’s Swiss press specification listed CHF 3,900 including VAT. These are launch figures, not a promise of current retail pricing; taxes, market, retailer and later price changes can affect what a buyer is quoted.

Is the Lagoon Blue limited edition, and where can you buy it?
