Its defining feature is a spiral tachymeter scale calibrated for cycling speeds, which TUDOR says can be used to read average speed over a known distance. The current U.S. reference is M25827KN-0001.
What is the Pelagos FXD Chrono “Cycling Edition”?
It is a cycling-themed chronograph watch, not a cycling computer. TUDOR says the project began with a brief from TUDOR Pro Cycling Team riders: make a watch robust and legible enough for professional cycling, with a useful function on the road. The manufacturer describes the watch as built around that brief; this does not establish that it replaces a bike computer or other riding equipment.

How the cycling tachymeter works
A tachymeter relates elapsed time to a known distance to indicate average speed. On this model, TUDOR says the scale is recalibrated for cycling speeds and arranged in a spiral around the dial, rather than using a conventional layout intended for higher speeds. The scale sits on the 45-degree-angled rehaut. TUDOR describes its tachymeter function as specifically designed for cycling.

In practical terms, the rider needs a known distance and an elapsed-time measurement from the chronograph; the scale then provides an average-speed reading for that interval. TUDOR does not publish an independent comparison with cycling computers in the cited product material, so the watch’s role is best understood as a chronograph with a cycling-oriented scale, not a substitute for a dedicated electronic cycling device.
Case, dial and strap
The case measures 43 mm across, 13.2 mm thick and 22 mm between the lugs, according to TUDOR’s U.S. product page. It is made from black, matt-finished carbon composite, with a titanium screw-down crown and direct-action titanium pushers. A domed sapphire crystal covers the dial, and a fixed 60-minute bezel completes the exterior. TUDOR rates water resistance at 100 metres.

The matte black dial uses red accents, luminous ceramic-composite hour markers, square markers and Snowflake hands. The supplied strap is a single-piece black fabric design. TUDOR says its 22 mm technical fabric is woven in France by Julien Faure on Jacquard looms. Because the watch has fixed strap bars, do not assume that standard quick-release straps or bracelets will fit; confirm replacement options with TUDOR or an authorized watchmaker.
Movement and chronograph functions
The self-winding MT5813 movement powers the watch. Its display includes hours and minutes, central chronograph seconds, a 45-minute counter at 3 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock and a date at 6 o’clock. TUDOR specifies a column wheel and vertical clutch, COSC certification, a silicon balance spring and approximately 70 hours of power reserve.

TUDOR also states that the fully assembled chronograph is tested to perform within -2 to +4 seconds per day, exceeding COSC standards. That is the manufacturer’s stated performance specification, not an independent test result.

The 2024 press sheet lists a Swiss price of CHF 4,950 including VAT. That is the price stated for Switzerland in that 2024 document; it is not a current U.S. transaction price or a universal price for other markets.
