ZRC’s Grands Fonds Heritage re-editions are current dive watches styled to recall the brand’s 1960s Grands Fonds models—not original vintage watches. ZRC lists six versions: S2-Metal, S2-Rubber, Chesnut, Crimson, Smoke and Milanese. The range shares a manufacturer-stated 39 mm 316L steel case, 300 m water-resistance rating and elaborated automatic Sellita SW-200 movement; details such as strap, hands, date and graduated scale vary by reference.
What is the ZRC Grands Fonds Heritage?
Heritage is ZRC’s modern re-edition family within the Grands Fonds dive-watch line. The brand describes the designs as recalling the appearance of its 1960s watches. Its history says work on a Grands Fonds 300 reissue began in 2015 and that the collection was redesigned in 2021. These dates describe the development of the modern line, not the age of the watches currently for sale. ZRC’s Grands Fonds catalogue and brand history provide the company’s account.
ZRC’s product page uses the phrase “designed by divers for divers.” That is the brand’s positioning, rather than an independent assessment of the watches. ZRC’s Heritage page describes the current models and their specifications.
How does the Heritage relate to the original Grands Fonds?
The Heritage is a contemporary interpretation, not a claim that each current reference is a preserved or identical reproduction of a specific 1960s watch. ZRC’s history dates the French Navy’s approval of the first Grands Fonds 300 to 1960. The company says the Navy considered a conventional crown at 3 o’clock vulnerable during underwater manipulation, which led to the distinctive crown position at 6 o’clock. This is ZRC’s historical account. ZRC’s French Navy history page explains the design rationale.
