What is new about the Diver Design 40?

That positioning makes the watch easier to assess as an everyday sports-style option than as specialist dive equipment. The announcement does not establish that the models are unusually affordable against comparable watches, nor does it provide market data showing that the sports-watch category is becoming more crowded. Those are broader claims than the available product information supports.
How large is the watch?
The announced models have a 39.9 mm case diameter. That is the confirmed size in the launch announcement; it does not state case thickness, lug-to-lug length, or other dimensions that affect how a watch wears on an individual wrist. If fit is decisive, check the full specification for the particular reference available in your market before buying.

Is the Diver Design 40 a real dive watch?
It has diver-inspired styling, but Orient says the Diver Design 40 is “Not an ISO standard diver’s watch.” Do not treat the design as an ISO-certified dive watch or infer a particular level of underwater suitability from its appearance. The February 2026 announcement does not provide a complete technical specification for the new models, including a water-resistance rating.
Which Diver Design 40 model can you buy?
Orient’s product search lists references including RA-AC0Q07V, RA-AC0Q08S, RA-AC0Q03S, RA-WJ0004Y, and RA-AC0Q09R. Check Orient’s product listings for current regional references and details. The specific variants and their availability differ by market, so a reference appearing in the family listing does not guarantee that it is currently for sale where you live.

Before choosing a specific model, confirm the local product page’s full specifications and stock status. The launch announcement establishes the 39.9 mm diameter and dial treatment, but not a full comparison of the new references’ movements, crystals, straps or bracelets, water resistance, or prices.

Orient’s 2020 release also placed diver-design watches in its Sports Collection and used the same non-ISO qualification. That provides historical context for the collection, but it does not mean every Orient diver-style model has the same specifications. Read the 2020 release.

For an everyday sports watch, compare the full specifications of the exact references available to you rather than relying on the shared styling. Useful points include case diameter and thickness, movement, water resistance and any certification, crystal, bracelet or strap, legibility, warranty, and current local price. Orient’s announcement confirms only a subset of those details for the five new Diver Design 40 models.
