How does the 33.5 mm case wear?
Small is the defining feature, not a minor variation in styling. The 33.5 mm diameter is notably compact by contemporary field-watch conventions, and the 39 mm lug-to-lug measurement gives a second useful indication of its footprint. At 9.5 mm thick, it is also a relatively slim profile on paper. Those dimensions may appeal if you prefer restrained watches, have a smaller wrist, or want a watch that does not dominate your outfit. If you expect the broad, assertive presence of many modern field watches, this one may feel too small.
Oracle Time’s sponsored reviewer described the watch as very small on the wrist and said its crown did not impede hand movement during their wear. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a fit guarantee. Wrist shape, strap adjustment, and personal taste all affect how a compact watch feels. If possible, compare the 33.5 mm model in person with a watch you already own; case diameter alone does not determine perceived size.
What the quartz movement means in daily use
This ATP Reissue is quartz, not the automatic model available elsewhere in the collection. The seconds hand advances in one-second steps, as expected from the movement described in Oracle Time’s review. Choose it if you want a straightforward battery-powered watch and do not require a sweeping seconds hand or the mechanical character of an automatic.

Rotary names Miyota 8215 for other automatic watches in the collection, but that movement is not specified for this quartz ATP Reissue. The sources reviewed do not establish the quartz calibre, battery life, accuracy, or service interval, so those details should not be inferred from the automatic models.
Design, features, and wartime connection
The layout is intentionally legible and restrained: a running-seconds sub-dial, luminous hands and indices, and a khaki fabric strap give it the visual language of a traditional field watch. Rotary specifies a single-dome sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, and 100 m water resistance, which bring contemporary materials and a stated water-resistance rating to the vintage-proportioned design. No independent durability, water-resistance, or laboratory testing is established by the available sources.

Rotary says it supplied ATP wristwatches to the British Army during the Second World War. In its 2024 history article, the company says it was one of 19 manufacturers serving the Army; that count is Rotary’s published historical claim, not an independently verified figure in the sources here. Rotary frames the ATP as preceding the later WWW watches commonly associated with the “Dirty Dozen.” The modern reissue draws on that history, but it is not presented as currently issued military equipment. Rotary’s announcement sums up its brand framing with the line, “Others tell the story. We lived it.”

Price, sponsorship, and what is not yet established
Oracle Time’s article, dated 29 September 2026 and marked sponsored, reports a price of £149. Its page notes that sponsored content may be influenced by advertisers, so treat the figure as that publication’s reported price, not an independently established current market price or a consensus value judgment. Rotary’s 6 August announcement said further pricing and launch information would follow, and Hen & Mills reported on 9 August 2026 that pricing had not yet been announced. The later sponsored review indicates hands-on access by then, but the sources do not confirm general stock, delivery dates, shipping regions, or return terms.
Before buying, confirm the current price, whether the watch is in stock for your region, delivery timing, and the retailer’s returns policy. Who should consider the Rotary x MoD ATP Reissue?
- Consider it if you actively want a compact 33.5 mm watch, prefer quartz, and like a simple field-watch layout with a fabric strap.
- Compare the 37 mm or 40 mm ATP if you want the same broad design direction with a larger case; the 40 mm version is automatic.
- Look elsewhere in the collection if you want a diver, pilot watch, connected watch, or commemorative set rather than a restrained field-watch format.
- Check the seller’s current listing for price, stock, delivery, and returns before treating the reported £149 as the amount you will pay.
