Its key practical strengths are a 39 mm case, sapphire crystal and solar-powered V192 movement; whether it suits you depends largely on its 13.3 mm thickness, blue-and-orange design and the price and availability in your country.
What is the Seiko Speedtimer HBJ008?
HBJ008 is Seiko’s European limited-edition addition to the Prospex Speedtimer line. Official UK and EU boutique listings use the retail reference HBJ008P1. Seiko describes the 2026 edition as limited to 4,000 pieces; that stated production limit does not establish whether the watch has sold out or what it might be worth second-hand.

The watch pairs a deep blue dial with orange details in a stainless-steel case and bracelet. Seiko’s UK listing says a calfskin strap is included as well as the bracelet. Seiko Boutique UK product listing

What are the HBJ008’s specifications?
| Specification | Seiko’s listed details |
|---|---|
| Movement | V192 solar calibre; approximately six months of operation when fully charged; stated accuracy of ±15 seconds per month |
| Chronograph | Measures up to 60 minutes in one-fifth-second increments |
| Other functions | 24-hour hand, small seconds, date, power-reserve indicator and overcharge prevention |
| Case | Stainless steel; 39.0 mm diameter, 45.5 mm lug-to-lug and 13.3 mm thick |
| Crystal | Curved sapphire with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface |
| Water resistance | 10 bar |
| Magnetic resistance | 4,800 A/m |
| Bracelet and strap | Stainless-steel bracelet with push-button folding clasp; 20 mm lug width. The UK listing says an additional calfskin strap is included. |
| Edition | 4,000 pieces |
These are Seiko’s product specifications, not independent measurements. The 45.5 mm lug-to-lug figure gives a useful sense of the watch’s footprint beyond its 39 mm diameter; the 13.3 mm thickness is also worth considering if you prefer a slimmer chronograph. The 10 bar rating is a stated water-resistance specification, not a recommendation for a particular kind of diving.

How does the HBJ008 look and wear?
In a hands-on report dated October 1, 2026, Jorg Weppelink of Fratello described the dial as deep and rich blue, with orange lume at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 markers and orange chronograph hands. He found the bracelet solid and balanced on his wrist and said the case wore nicely, while questioning whether it could be slimmer. These are the reviewer’s impressions, not a universal fit assessment. Fratello’s hands-on report
Weppelink also noted that he would have liked quick-release strap changes and micro-adjustment at the clasp. If those features matter to you, check the actual bracelet and strap attachment before buying rather than assuming they are included.

It merits consideration if you want a solar chronograph with a 39 mm case, sapphire crystal, a useful range of timing and calendar functions, and a distinctive blue-and-orange dial. The listed six-month operating period after a full charge and the stated monthly accuracy make the V192’s solar-powered format a notable part of the proposition.

Before committing, weigh the listed regional price against the features you value, and decide whether the 13.3 mm thickness and 45.5 mm lug-to-lug fit your wrist and wardrobe. The bracelet-adjustment critique is one reviewer’s, so inspect the clasp yourself if fine adjustment is important. Treat the 4,000-piece limit as edition information, not proof of scarcity, a guaranteed sellout or future resale value.
