How does it wear, and what does acrylic mean in daily use?
At 40mm across and 13.5mm high, the TW2V42600 has a substantial listed height as well as a steel bracelet weight of 143.16g. If you prefer a lighter watch, a leather variant may be worth considering, though the cited listings do not provide its weight. The 18mm band/lug measurement is useful when checking fit, but it does not by itself prove that a generic replacement strap will fit the bracelet model’s integrated design.
Acrylic suits the watch’s vintage character and Timex describes it as impact-resistant and polishable. Its compromise is that acrylic is softer and more prone to scratches than harder crystal materials. Choose it if the period look and ability to polish are appealing; choose a watch with a harder crystal if scratch resistance is a higher priority.

Can you swim with the Q Timex Chronograph?
Timex rates the TW2V42600 to 50m and describes it as suitable for light or short swimming. The brand says it is not intended for snorkeling or poolside diving, and advises against pressing the pushers underwater. The rating should not be read as making this a dive watch. Timex’s product guidance

Is it the Q you’ve been waiting for?
The TW2V42600 is a strong fit if you want a quartz stopwatch in a retro motoring-style case, like a steel bracelet, and accept acrylic’s scratch-prone nature and swimming limits. Consider a leather variant if bracelet weight or style is the deciding factor, but compare the exact reference rather than assuming the other model shares the bracelet version’s specifications.
