There is no steel-and-gold Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch documented in the cited 2026 launches. OMEGA introduced a black-and-white 42 mm Moonwatch in stainless steel and a separate version in solid 18K Moonshine Gold. Its steel-and-gold release is a different watch: a Speedmaster 38 mm, not a Moonwatch Professional.
Which watch is the new steel-and-gold Speedmaster?
The name combines details from two distinct OMEGA releases. The January 2026 black-and-white Moonwatch Professional comes in either stainless steel or 18K Moonshine Gold; those are separate case-material options, not a two-tone steel-and-gold case. OMEGA’s August 2026 two-tone release belongs to the Speedmaster 38 mm collection.
OMEGA’s January 13, 2026 announcement describes the Moonwatch variants, while its August 25, 2026 collection release documents the separate bicolour 38 mm model.
What is new about the black-and-white Moonwatch Professional?
Layered black-and-white dial
The 42 mm watch has a double-plate step dial: a polished black top plate with varnished and lacquered finish, set against white subdial bases finished in varnish and lacquer. A black ceramic bezel ring carries a white enamel tachymeter scale. The box-form sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant and treated with anti-reflective coating.

Two case materials, one movement
OMEGA lists stainless steel and 18K Moonshine Gold versions. Both use Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 and carry a five-year warranty, according to the brand. OMEGA calls the 3861 “the most advanced evolution” of Calibre 321, which the company says NASA astronauts trusted on the Moon; that is OMEGA’s characterization.
The bracelet is polished and brushed and includes OMEGA’s patented comfort-release adjustment system. Hodinkee’s launch report identifies the steel watch as reference 310.30.42.50.01.004 and the Moonshine Gold version as 310.60.42.50.01.002.

How the separate two-tone Speedmaster 38 mm differs
OMEGA’s August 2026 release lists seven additions to the Speedmaster 38 mm collection. One bicolour configuration combines a stainless-steel case with a polished 18K Moonshine Gold bezel, a green aluminium bezel ring, and a yellow-gold tachymeter scale. It has a silvery opaline PVD dial, Moonshine Gold PVD hands and baton indexes, and small bracelet links in 18K Moonshine Gold.
That watch is a Speedmaster 38 mm, not a Professional Moonwatch. OMEGA also describes broader 38 mm collection updates: rounded subdials, less dial wording, thicker bezels with the Moonwatch-associated Dot-Over-Ninety detail, and five-link Moonwatch-style bracelets. Those family details should not be confused with the 42 mm Professional’s specifications.

Movement distinction
OMEGA says six of the new 38 mm models have dates and use self-winding Calibre 3330; the black-dial model without a date uses self-winding Calibre 3332. These are 38 mm family specifications, not the movement in the black-and-white Moonwatch, which uses Calibre 3861.

Which model should you look for?
- For the new black-and-white Moonwatch Professional: look for the 42 mm steel reference 310.30.42.50.01.004 or the 18K Moonshine Gold reference 310.60.42.50.01.002.
- For a steel-and-gold Speedmaster: look in the Speedmaster 38 mm collection and verify the exact configuration. Do not rely on “steel-and-gold Moonwatch” as the model identity.
