The IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Bronze (IW388109) pairs a blue dial and textile strap with a bronze case, crown and pushers designed to develop a patina. Its 41 mm case houses IWC’s automatic caliber 69385 chronograph, and the supplied strap uses IWC’s EasX-CHANGE attachment system. Here are the official specifications and what hands-on reviewers report about wearing it.
What is the IW388109?
IW388109 is IWC’s Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 in bronze, with a blue dial. IWC describes the case, crown and pushers as bronze and says the material develops a patina over time. The reference appears on IWC’s past-collections page, which confirms its specifications but does not establish current availability.
The bronze look is meant to change rather than remain uniform. A retailer, Watches of Switzerland, says the alloy includes copper, aluminium and iron and is around 50 per cent harder than standard bronze. That composition and hardness figure are the retailer’s claims; IWC’s product page does not give those material details.

Strap attachment and water resistance
The included blue textile strap uses IWC’s EasX-CHANGE system. IWC says additional straps can be purchased, but the 20 mm width alone does not establish that an ordinary strap will fit this proprietary attachment. Confirm the connection and reference with IWC or an authorized retailer before buying a replacement.
