The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph Ocean Grey is reference Q9028651, introduced on 16 June 2025. It pairs a 42 mm stainless-steel case with an Ocean Grey lacquer dial and an automatic integrated chronograph movement. The reference matters: other Polaris Chronograph versions, including Q902843J, have different dial and strap configurations.

These are manufacturer-published specifications. The official product page lists the case dimensions and 10-bar rating; the brand’s announcement and product information describe the dial, movement, functions and strap options. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s 16 June 2025 announcement and official product page identify the Ocean Grey version.
What is distinctive about the Ocean Grey dial?
Jaeger-LeCoultre describes the dial as a double gradient, shifting from light to dark grey. The manufacturer says it applies 35 layers of lacquer and combines three surface finishes—sunray, grained and opaline—with orange accents. The result is a layered treatment rather than a plain, uniform grey face; these details are the brand’s description of its own dial-making process.
The chronograph layout adds central chronograph seconds, a 30-minute counter and a tachymeter scale, alongside hours, minutes and small seconds. That arrangement gives the watch timing functions without replacing its conventional time display.

Calibre 761 and chronograph operation
Calibre 761 is an automatic, integrated chronograph movement: the chronograph is built into the movement architecture rather than described as a separate add-on module. Jaeger-LeCoultre specifies a column wheel and vertical clutch, twin barrels and a 65-hour power reserve. The product page also lists 28,800 vibrations per hour, 248 decorated components and 35 jewels; these are manufacturer-stated figures, not independent measurements.
The brand says the calibre is designed, produced and assembled at its Manufacture in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux. Its release notes blued screws, Côtes de Genève decoration and an open-worked rotor bearing the “JL” motif. No independent movement testing or reliability data for this reference is established by those specifications.

Is the Polaris Chronograph Ocean Grey water resistant?
Yes. Jaeger-LeCoultre rates Q9028651 at 10 bar on its official product page. That is the published pressure-resistance specification; it should not be read by itself as a recommendation for professional diving or as a guarantee of performance in every real-world water activity. The manufacturer presents the model as a sporty everyday chronograph, not as a dedicated dive watch.
Straps, fit and regional price
The watch is presented with a black rubber strap and a blue-grey canvas strap, both described as interchangeable. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Switzerland product page lists a 21 mm lug width, 20 mm buckle width and stainless-steel double-folding buckle. Those fit measurements are useful when checking strap compatibility, but the listed straps are the manufacturer’s specified options for this reference.

The Swiss-localized page displayed a price of CHF 14,100 when accessed in 2026. This is a regional displayed price, not a universal price or a guaranteed transaction amount; pricing may differ by market and change over time. The brand’s collection framing is also its own positioning: in its 16 June 2025 release, Jaeger-LeCoultre called Polaris “Redefining the modern sporty-chic watch since 2018” and said it was “conceived for everyday adventures.”

A meaningful comparison needs like-for-like data rather than a broad claim that one watch is better. Compare case diameter and thickness, water-resistance rating, movement architecture and stated reserve, dial legibility and finishing, functions, included straps and lug width, and price in the same currency, market and date. Published specifications alone do not establish comparative accuracy, durability, service costs or long-term reliability.
