The Timex Intrepid x Dimepiece Edition is a 36 mm quartz watch that reworks the 1995 Intrepid’s bold, oversized look in a smaller case. Created with Dimepiece founder Brynn Wallner and vintage curator Alan Bedwell, it pairs a cream-and-black dial with purple details, an offset crown, INDIGLO backlight and a stated 100 m water-resistance rating.
What is the Timex Intrepid x Dimepiece Edition?
Released as a 2025 collaboration, the watch was co-created by Timex, Brynn Wallner of Dimepiece and vintage curator Alan Bedwell of Foundwell. Timex positions it as a gender-neutral reinterpretation of its 1995 Intrepid rather than a straight reproduction. The model number shown on Timex Philippines is TW2Y48000.
The clearest change is scale: Timex reduced the original Intrepid’s 46 mm case to 36 mm, describing the smaller size as more wearable across wrist sizes. That is a change in stated dimensions, not a guarantee of fit or comfort on every wrist. Timex’s collaboration announcement and its earlier Intrepid reissue article document the design lineage.
Design and specifications
The watch keeps the Intrepid’s distinctive, practical-looking layout while adding a restrained color accent. Timex describes a cream-and-black dial with purple markers and a purple seconds hand. The crown sits at 4 o’clock, while a dedicated purple pusher operates INDIGLO illumination. Dimepiece lists the case as stainless steel, the crystal as mineral glass, and the black strap as synthetic rubber.

Timex states 100 m water resistance; that figure is a manufacturer rating, not evidence of independently tested performance or a specific swimming or diving suitability. Check Timex’s guidance for the intended activity before exposing the watch to water. The 18 mm lug width gives a useful strap measurement, but it does not by itself establish that every 18 mm replacement strap will attach correctly; check the attachment style and fit before buying one.
How it compares with the 46 mm Intrepid
The original-style Intrepid reissue documented by Timex measures 46 mm, compared with 36 mm for the Dimepiece edition. The collaboration therefore offers a substantially smaller take on the same design family. It also has its own cream, black and purple color treatment. The available product information does not establish a like-for-like comparison of every specification between the two versions, so use the model-specific listing when checking details beyond case size and styling.

Who is this watch for?
- Consider it if you want: the recognizable Intrepid look in a smaller 36 mm case, quartz timekeeping, an illuminated dial and a sporty synthetic-rubber strap.
- Look elsewhere if: you specifically want the original reissue’s 46 mm scale, a different movement type, or verified activity-specific water-use guidance that the stated rating alone does not provide.
- For strap changes: treat 18 mm as the listed lug width, then confirm attachment compatibility and fit for the particular strap.
Wallner described the smaller format as a way to make a larger-watch style easier to wear, and told Timex she wanted a genderless watch that could be shared. Those are the collaboration’s design aims, not a promise about how the watch will fit an individual wrist.
