Both measure 40.1 × 24.4 mm, are 7.56 mm thick and use a hand-wound Calibre 822 with a stated 42-hour power reserve.
What does “Reverso Tribute Mid-Size” mean?
“Mid-Size” is the market name used for this pair of Reverso Tribute Monoface watches. Jaeger-LeCoultre identifies them on its product pages by the names Reverso Tribute Monoface and references Q7168420 and Q716848J; a 2024 launch report identifies them as the mid-size variants. They are time-only watches with one dial, not Duoface models with a second time display on the reverse.
Jaeger-LeCoultre says the Reverso was created in 1931 and describes the Tribute Monoface as carrying forward design codes of early models. The Maison also describes Calibre 822 as a form movement, shaped to follow the rectangular Reverso case. These are the manufacturer’s characterizations, rather than independent historical or movement assessments. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Q7168420 product page gives the movement and design details; the Maison’s statement is, “Created in 1931, Reverso has remained eternally modern.”
What are the case dimensions and specifications?
Jaeger-LeCoultre lists the same principal dimensions and movement specifications for both references. Because the case is rectangular, its 40.1 mm length is not comparable to the diameter of a 40 mm round watch.

These specifications are listed on the manufacturer’s Q7168420 and Q716848J pages. The blue model’s strap is described as quick-release/interchangeable; the silver model page lists its strap color and lug width.
How do Q7168420 and Q716848J differ?
The documented differences are the dial and supplied strap colors. Choose Q7168420 for the silvered-grey opaline dial with light-brown calfskin, or Q716848J for the blue sunray-brushed dial with a matching blue calfskin strap. Both are steel, time-only Monoface watches with the same listed dimensions and movement specifications.

The reverse is not a second dial. Jaeger-LeCoultre describes the back as customizable by engraving or lacquer motif on the blue reference and as customizable on the silver model. Confirm what customization is currently available with the manufacturer or a boutique before relying on a particular service.
How should you judge the fit?
Use the listed 40.1 mm length, 24.4 mm width and 7.56 mm thickness as starting measurements, not as a direct equivalent to a round-watch diameter. Rectangular case proportions wear differently, and fit depends on the wearer’s wrist and preference. Trying the watch on is the reliable way to assess how its length and shape sit.

Both references list an 18 mm lug width. For a replacement strap, do not assume that any generic 18 mm strap will fit correctly: confirm the exact reference, strap-end shape, spring-bar arrangement and clasp compatibility.
What does 3 bar water resistance mean?
Jaeger-LeCoultre gives the rating as 3 bar. Treat that as a modest water-resistance specification, not a reason to use the watch for swimming. The product information cited here does not establish suitability for a particular water activity.
