AlMoosawi’s photographs of Middle Eastern design details become the source material for Algwaiz’s AI-assisted digital compositions, which imagine those details in speculative environments. It is a commissioned art collaboration, not a watchmaking demonstration.
What is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Made of Makers project?
Jaeger-LeCoultre describes Made of Makers as a programme that connects the Maison with artists and artisans working beyond watchmaking. Its stated purpose is to bring creators together and open conversations through different forms of expression. “Bridge in Time” applies that approach through photography and digital art, with the Maison framing the result as a dialogue between cultural heritage and possible futures. The process has two distinct credited stages: AlMoosawi photographs architectural and urban details; Algwaiz uses those images as the basis for digitally imagined forms. The Maison presents her use of AI as an extension of the photographs rather than a replacement for them. The page does not name a specific AI model, software, or technical workflow, so the collaboration is best understood by its credited roles, not by assumptions about how the images were made.
How do the two artists contribute?
Hussain AlMoosawi: photographing urban memory
Jaeger-LeCoultre describes AlMoosawi as an Emirati multidisciplinary creative with more than 20 years of experience in design, photography, and visual journalism. The Maison says he earned a BA from Queensland College of Art in 2007, later completed an MA in Communication Design at Swinburne University in Melbourne, and returned to the UAE in 2013. His statement describes a personal starting point in Dubai rather than a simple catalogue of skylines: “I began with Dubai – not as a skyline, but as a memory. I followed the light across arches, patterns, and lines echoing the culture of the Arab world. Each frame became a quiet contemplation of time.”
Mona Algwaiz: extending the photographed material
The Maison describes Algwaiz as a Saudi engineer and digital artist whose work explores AI, cultural heritage, and speculative design. In this commission, she builds from AlMoosawi’s photographs to propose structures and environments that place nature and modernity together.
“I work with Artificial Intelligence, not to replace reality, but to extend it. Always preserving its essence. Guided by Hussain’s photographs, I imagined new forms and structures that reveal Dubai’s duality: nature intertwined with modernity, environments shaped by progress.”
What do the images’ architectural motifs mean?
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s project page identifies five recurring motifs and gives each a particular interpretation. These are the commissioning Maison’s readings of the works, rather than universal definitions of the forms across Middle Eastern architecture or religious practice.

- The mosque: described by the Maison as a place of orientation and rhythm, associated with spirituality and unity.
- The coral wall: linked by the Maison to the historic use of coral stone in UAE coastal architecture, and reimagined as a living form carrying memory, resilience, and regeneration.
- The threshold: treated as a passage associated with intention and reflection.
- The bridge: a symbol of connection and transmission between generations.
- The courtyard: a place of hospitality and gathering, with the page specifically connecting it to Ramadan evenings and collective life.
Together, the motifs let the artists place familiar architectural references alongside imagined settings. The title’s “bridge” can therefore be read both as one of the named visual symbols and as a description of the project’s movement between photographed details and speculative composition.
How does Bridge in Time fit the wider programme?
“Bridge in Time” is not the programme’s only collaboration with a regional creative. In a press release dated 25 February 2025, Jaeger-LeCoultre announced “Crescent to Crescent,” an installation curated by Emirati designer Khalid Shafar. The Maison said it interpreted celestial movements through Ramadan’s lunar cycle and was scheduled to debut at the Dubai Mall Grand Atrium on 28 February before travelling to selected locations in the city. The earlier installation connected Ramadan’s lunar cycle with themes Jaeger-LeCoultre associates with time and watchmaking. “Bridge in Time” takes a different form: its central exchange is between photography and AI-assisted digital composition, rather than a physical installation about celestial movement.

No. “Bridge in Time” is an art collaboration. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s project page also presents a Makers Selection of Reverso watches alongside the collaboration, but it does not say that buying a watch includes the artwork or that the watches are part of a new release tied to the images.
