Jaeger-LeCoultre’s “The Adventure Spirit” was a travelling exhibition of 12 historical tool and sports watches, tracing a path from military timepieces and divers to adventurous 1970s designs and technically ambitious watches of the early 2000s. The London and Las Vegas dates reported in 2025 have passed, so this is a look back at what the showcase contained—not a notice of a current display.
What was “The Adventure Spirit” exhibition?
Time+Tide described the showcase as a look at around 80 years of Jaeger-LeCoultre tool- and sports-watch development, a side of the maison less familiar than its dressier reputation. Its 12 selected watches were arranged as a historical journey rather than a set of products to rank: each chapter showed a different response to practical use, from legibility and alarms to underwater timing and experimental construction.
The available accounts are Time+Tide editorial reports, not an official exhibition catalogue. Technical and historical superlatives below are attributed to that publication where relevant.
Which watches were included?
The exhibition’s story moved through four broad chapters. The examples reported by Time+Tide illustrate the direction of each chapter; the reports do not provide a complete catalogue entry for every one of the 12 watches.

Military and pilot-watch roots
The London feature opened with two watches dating to 1945 and placed them in the context of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s military-sector work, including the brand’s version of a “Dirty Dozen” field watch. It also highlighted an original Geophysic, associated in the report with legibility and reliability in demanding conditions. Together, these watches set up the exhibition’s central theme: designs shaped by use as well as by appearance.
Divers, alarms, and underwater timing
The diving chapter included the Memovox Deep Sea from 1959, a later Memovox Polaris, and the Shark Deep Sea. Time+Tide described the Memovox Deep Sea as the first dive watch to contain an alarm function; that “first” claim is the publication’s reporting, not an independently established conclusion here. The Shark Deep Sea was described as having a chronograph and three interchangeable bezels.

Memovox alarms recur across the exhibition’s history. In a diving context, an alarm adds a practical signal to a watch designed for underwater use; the later models show how the Memovox name continued into different sports-watch forms.
1970s experimentation
The 1970s selection comprised the blue Memovox Polaris II, the monochrome Memovox Speed Beat GT, and the integrated-bracelet Memovox Snowdrop. Time+Tide emphasized their period styling and the variety of forms and colors. Rather than treating “sports watch” as one fixed look, this group showed the breadth of the decade’s design experimentation.

Technical ambition after 2000
The final chapter moved into the early 2000s with the Master Compressor Memovox, introduced in 2002, and the Master Compressor Extreme Lab 1 and 2. Time+Tide said both Extreme Lab models did away with lubricants. In its 2025 Las Vegas report, the publication stated that the Extreme LAB 2 comprised 569 components; this is a model-specific figure reported by Time+Tide, not an independently verified specification in an official catalogue.
How did the historical watches connect to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s current designs?
At a London event recap, Time+Tide said most of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s then-current catalogue was also on display, with the Polaris collection presented as a natural successor to the historical sports watches. That is a design-lineage connection, not an indication that the exhibition watches themselves remain on sale. The Polaris name’s appearance in both the historical selection and the contemporary collection makes the link especially visible, while the watches belong to distinct periods and should not be conflated.

Where and when was the exhibition shown?
The reported appearances took place in 2025 and are over. Time+Tide reported the London boutique presentation in September, followed by a separate London Discovery Studio evening in October. Its November report placed the exhibition at the Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique in The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Time+Tide identified Matthieu Sauret as Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Product and Heritage Director and reported that he helped assemble the collection and spoke about the watches at the London Discovery Studio event. The recap describes the talk’s subject but does not reproduce a direct quotation, so no specific words are attributed to him here.
