The JEANRICHARD Terrascope’s appeal is its case: a raised round bezel, a square-like middle layer and a cushion-shaped base stack into a distinctive, faceted silhouette. On the black-dial 46 mm example reviewed by Monochrome Watches, contrasting finishes and clear dial details make that architecture the point of the watch. Its scale and weight are part of the bargain, though, and Terrascope specifications vary by reference—so size, movement and water rating should be checked against the exact model.
What makes the Terrascope distinctive?
The Terrascope is a design-led sport-luxury watch built around a layered case rather than a conventional uninterrupted round profile. Monochrome Watches describes a round, raised bezel above a square-like intermediate layer, set on a cushion-shaped foundation. The result is a stepped outline with changing facets as the case catches light.
On Monochrome’s black-dial example, the effect is reinforced by polished and satin-finished steel. The black brushed dial keeps the surface visually restrained, while luminous hands and markers provide contrast. A red-tipped seconds hand and a date window add small accents without displacing the case as the central design feature. These are observations of that reviewed configuration, not a description of every Terrascope dial or finish. Monochrome Watches’ Terrascope review
How large is it, and how does it wear?
There is no single size for the Terrascope. Monochrome lists its black-dial review watch at 46 mm in diameter and 12.6 mm thick, and reports a weight of 220 g with its steel bracelet. Professional Watches describes a different reviewed example as 44 mm wide and 12.60 mm thick. Those figures belong to the cited examples; the collection also includes a 39 mm version in the documented material. Professional Watches’ Terrascope review

The 46 mm bracelet watch is a substantial choice in both diameter and mass. Monochrome’s reviewer found that configuration large and heavy, and noted that its crown was awkward to grip. Those are wearer observations rather than universal fit measurements: wrist shape, bracelet adjustment and personal tolerance for a prominent watch all affect how it feels. If considering a pre-owned example, confirm the reference and configuration rather than relying on the Terrascope name alone.
Which movement and specifications does it use?
Terrascope movements depend on the model. Monochrome describes its example as using modified Sellita-based Calibre 11½, with a 38-hour power reserve. Professional Watches reports a JR60 movement and 42-hour reserve in its reviewed example. The 2014 GPHG listing for the Black DLC reference 60500-11-609-FK6A also gives a 38-hour reserve. These are not interchangeable specifications for the entire collection. GPHG’s 2014 Terrascope Black DLC listing

Is the Terrascope a dive watch?
The cited Terrascope examples are rated to 100 m water resistance, including the 2014 Black DLC reference listed by GPHG. Professional Watches contrasts that rating with 300 m for the separate Aquascope. The Terrascope’s rating makes it a sport watch with water resistance, but the available specifications do not present it as a dedicated deep-water dive instrument. Follow the care guidance for the particular watch, especially for an older or pre-owned example whose seals may need attention.

How do Terrascope editions differ?
Reference matters more than the collection name when comparing two watches. The sources document differing sizes, movements, complications and materials:
| Example | Size and thickness | Movement or complication | Power reserve | Water resistance | Configuration detail |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monochrome black-dial review example | 46 mm diameter; 12.6 mm height | Modified Sellita-based Calibre 11½ | 38 hours | 100 m, as reported in the review | 220 g with steel bracelet; Monochrome Watches review, circa 2013. Source |
| Professional Watches review example | 44 mm wide; 12.60 mm thick | JR60 | 42 hours | 100 m | Distinct reviewed example. Source |

| Terrascope GMT | 44 mm; Fondation Haute Horlogerie lists dimensions as 44 mm | Self-winding JR62 GMT | 42 hours | 100 m | Fondation Haute Horlogerie model entry. Source |
Steel bracelets, rubber and leather straps, and black DLC-coated editions appear in the documented range. The sources do not establish one strap or bracelet as standard across all references. Confirm what is included with the exact watch, and do not assume a replacement strap will fit without checking reference-specific compatibility.

Where does the Terrascope sit in the JEANRICHARD family?
Kering’s 2013 reference document describes a 2012 repositioning of JEANRICHARD around traditional watchmaking and collections associated with land, water and air. It places the Terrascope alongside the Aquascope and Aeroscope on a shared “chassis” platform, while associating the 1681 with the JR1000 manufacture movement. That history does not establish that the Terrascope uses the JR1000 or that its movement is in-house. Kering’s 2013 Reference Document
Quick Recap
Best Value
- DIVER-INSPIRED DESIGN — Inspired by the sea, the MDV-106G is styled after classic dive watches and delivers 200-meter water resistance at an unbeatable price point. The black resin band and stainless steel case give it a classic look, while the anti-reverse rotary bezel adds authentic dive-watch character.
- STAINLESS STEEL CASE WITH SCREW-LOCK CROWN & CASEBACK — The MDV-106G features a stainless steel case and a reliable screw-lock crown for enhanced water resistance protection. Screw-down crown and screw-lock caseback work together to keep the movement sealed and secure during water activities — a construction standard found on dive watches far above this price range.
- LARGE FLUORESCENT HANDS & INDICES FOR INSTANT READABILITY — The dial features hands and hour indices with large fluorescent areas for easy reading in low-light and underwater conditions. The clean 3-hand analog layout with date display at 3 o'clock keeps the dial uncluttered and immediately legible at a glance.
- 44MM STAINLESS STEEL CASE | 22MM LUG WIDTH | MINERAL GLASS — The case measures 44mm in diameter, 12mm in height, with a 49mm lug-to-lug length and a standard 22mm lug width — making strap upgrades effortless with a vast range of aftermarket options. Mineral glass protects the dial from everyday scratches and impacts.
- 3-YEAR BATTERY & 200M WATER RESISTANCE — Powered by an SR626SW battery with an approximate 3-year life, the case measures 49.5 × 46.3 × 12.1mm and weighs 92 grams. At 200 meters of water resistance, the Duro is versatile and suitable for all situations — whether in the water, hiking, running, or at the office.
What should you check before buying one?
- Exact reference: Confirm the case size, movement, complication and material for the watch being offered; specifications differ across Terrascope models.
- Included configuration: Check whether it comes on a steel bracelet, rubber or leather strap, or another setup, and verify compatibility before ordering replacements.
- Condition and water resistance: A historical 100 m rating is not a guarantee that an older watch remains water-tight today. Ask about condition and recent service, and have seals checked before exposing it to water.
- Seller and availability: The cited model records do not establish current inventory, seller quality, market price or service-network availability. Evaluate those details independently for the specific listing.
