Unofficial renders reported in May 2024 showed the then-rumored Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra with a rounded-square outer case around a circular display—a marked departure from the familiar round Galaxy Watch silhouette. The images were attributed to SmartPrix and Steve Hemmerstoffer, known as OnLeaks, and were not a Samsung announcement. Samsung’s production watch was ultimately named the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
What did the leaked Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra look like?
The renders depicted a circular screen set inside a more angular, rounded-square case. That mix of shapes—not a square display—was the defining visual change. SamMobile described the design as a middle ground between a squarish exterior and Samsung’s familiar circular watch display, while Android Central also reported a round screen nested in a square chassis. Compared with earlier round Galaxy Watches, the leak suggested changes to the case silhouette, the number of visible side buttons, speaker openings, bezel appearance and the way the band met the case. Those are observations from images; they do not establish how the watch would feel or function in use.
What design details appeared in the renders?
- Rounded-square case, circular display: The outer housing looked angular, while the screen remained round.
- Three side buttons: The renders appeared to show an additional button between the usual pair.
- Larger speaker grilles: The openings looked larger than on earlier Galaxy Watch designs.
- Bezel and band: SamMobile described a rotating bezel and tighter-looking band integration. An image alone cannot confirm the bezel’s operation or prove compatibility with existing bands.
9to5Google reported that SmartPrix’s imagery was based on CAD files and noted that the middle button’s purpose was unclear. Calling it an action button or a rotating control would go beyond what the leak established. 9to5Google

What size and display did the leak suggest?
SamMobile and Android Central attributed a 1.5-inch display to the leak. SamMobile and 9to5Google reported leak-era dimensions of 47 × 47.4 × 16.4 mm. These were measurements reported from prelaunch render or CAD material, not verified specifications published by Samsung. SamMobile · Android Central · 9to5Google
Was the leak the same watch Samsung released?
The May 2024 reports used the name “Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra” for the rumored device. Samsung’s product page identifies the production watch as the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The leak is useful as an early look at the design direction, but its reported dimensions and uncertain button interpretation should not be treated as confirmed final-product details.
