Attributed by SamMobile to Evan Blass, the images suggested a major redesign for the standard Watch 8, the return of a physical rotating bezel on the Classic, and only modest visible changes to the Ultra.
The renders revealed exterior design, not confirmed specifications. They did not establish pricing, battery capacity, processor, display details, release timing, regional availability, or final health-feature support.
What the leak showed
SamMobile reported that the leaked images depicted three watches from multiple angles and represented Samsung’s expected 2025 family:
| Expected model | Distinctive design shown | What can be said confidently |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Watch 8 | Redesigned, more squared case with two side buttons | Visible in the reported renders |
| Galaxy Watch 8 Classic | Physical rotating bezel and crown-style control | Visible in the reported renders |
| Galaxy Watch Ultra / Ultra 2 | Familiar rugged case with an apparent color change | Design reported; official name uncertain |
The images were described as leaked product renders, not hands-on photographs, regulatory filings, or Samsung-confirmed press material. The original report is available from SamMobile. A Korean repost on Quasarzone identified itself as a translated or adapted version rather than independent confirmation from Samsung.

Galaxy Watch 8 appeared to get the biggest redesign
The standard Galaxy Watch 8 appeared to move away from the familiar, straightforward circular styling used across earlier base models. The case had a more squared or “squirkle”-influenced silhouette, giving it some of the visual language associated with Samsung’s more rugged Ultra range.
The renders appeared to show two side buttons. That control layout distinguished the standard model from the Classic and Ultra, which were shown with an additional crown-style control.
What the images did not reveal was equally important. They could not confirm the case material, dimensions, weight, display size, resolution, durability rating, or whether the new shape brought any internal hardware changes.
The Classic combined a rotating bezel with Ultra-inspired styling
The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic was the most distinctive model in the leak. It reportedly brought back a physical rotating bezel, the mechanical control that many Galaxy Watch owners prefer for scrolling through menus, notifications, and fitness screens.

Its case appeared more angular than the traditional Classic designs, while still retaining a premium watch-like appearance. The reported control layout combined two buttons with a digital crown-style control. That describes the visible form; it does not prove that the control worked identically to an Apple Watch Digital Crown.
This positioning made the Classic look like a middle ground: more traditional and tactile than the standard Watch 8, but less overtly rugged than the Ultra. The renders did not establish its dimensions or weight, so assumptions that it would be larger or heavier than the standard model should remain qualified.
The Ultra looked familiar, and its name was unresolved
The leaked Ultra appeared broadly similar to the 2024 Galaxy Watch Ultra. Its rugged, squared-off case, two-button-plus-crown arrangement, and overall construction seemed to carry over, with an apparent color variation providing the clearest exterior difference.
The name was not settled. Although the headline referred to “Galaxy Watch Ultra 2,” the report noted that Samsung might instead call it Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025). “Ultra 2” should therefore be treated as media shorthand or an expectation—not as a confirmed product name.

That visual continuity mattered for existing Ultra owners. Based on the renders alone, the 2025 model looked more like a refinement or refresh than an obvious redesign. A color change by itself would not represent a compelling upgrade for every 2024 Ultra owner.
What appeared to be shared across the three watches
SamMobile reported that all three watches appeared to use the same BioActive sensor arrangement and the same wrist-strap locking approach.
Those observations should not be stretched into claims of identical health capabilities or universal accessory compatibility. A similar-looking sensor layout does not confirm identical sensor generations, software support, or accuracy. Likewise, a shared-looking locking mechanism does not prove that every existing strap would fit every case size or that straps would be bundled identically in every market.
One UI 8 Watch was expected at launch
The report expected all three models to launch with One UI 8 Watch and named four anticipated features:

At the time of the leak, the report also expected the update to reach most older Galaxy Watch models before the end of 2025. These were launch-cycle expectations reported in June 2025, not specifications that the renders could verify. Health features can also depend on the watch model, a compatible Galaxy phone, Samsung account settings, software version, country, and regulatory clearance.
What the renders did not reveal
The leak did not establish:
- Retail pricing or trade-in values
- Exact release dates
- Processor, memory, or storage
- Battery capacities or real-world battery life
- Display sizes or resolutions
- Case dimensions and weights
- LTE model availability
- Water- and dust-resistance certifications
- Final colors, strap bundles, or regional variants
- Whether all health features would be available in every country
- The Ultra’s official name
The original report explicitly said pricing was unknown. It mentioned a rumor that the new Ultra could cost less than the previous model, but that was not confirmed pricing and should not be treated as a buying fact.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which model the leak appeared to target
Galaxy Watch 8
The standard model appeared aimed at buyers who wanted the newest mainstream Galaxy Watch design without the Ultra’s rugged visual identity. Its redesigned case was the main attraction. The trade-off was the apparent absence of a physical rotating bezel, which may matter to users who prefer mechanical navigation.
Galaxy Watch 8 Classic
The Classic was the clearest choice for shoppers who specifically wanted a physical bezel and a more traditional watch appearance. Its Ultra-influenced case language could appeal to buyers who liked the rugged look but did not want the Ultra’s positioning. The renders could not establish how comfortable or practical the bezel and crown would be in daily use.

Galaxy Watch Ultra or Ultra 2
The Ultra remained the likely option for buyers drawn to a large, rugged watch for outdoor and endurance use. Its apparent design continuity also made it the least visually transformative of the three. Existing Ultra owners should not assume a major hardware improvement from the leaked exterior.
What this meant for Galaxy Watch owners
Owners of older standard Galaxy Watches had the strongest apparent reason to pay attention because the base model seemed to receive the lineup’s most substantial visual change.
Classic owners had a simpler question: whether the new case shape and crown-style control improved on the familiar bezel experience. The leak suggested continuity in the physical interaction, but not enough information to judge usability.
Ultra owners had less visible incentive to upgrade. The reported 2025 Ultra looked close to its predecessor, so the value of an upgrade would depend on specifications, software differences, price, and battery performance that the renders did not provide.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
For buyers choosing among all three, the design decision was straightforward: choose the standard Watch 8 for the redesigned mainstream form, the Classic for the physical bezel, or the Ultra for the largest and most rugged-looking package. The leak alone could not determine which offered the best value.
Bottom line on the 2025 leak
The June 23, 2025 images were significant because they reportedly exposed Samsung’s full watch strategy rather than just one model. The standard Galaxy Watch 8 appeared to adopt a new squared case, the Classic brought back its physical rotating bezel, and the Ultra retained much of the previous generation’s rugged design.
But “leave nothing to the imagination” was headline language, not a literal description of what the renders proved. They showed Samsung’s expected exterior designs; they did not confirm the watches’ specifications, prices, software parity, compatibility, or final branding.
