Its example firmware demonstrates screen output and Wi-Fi tasks, making it a small experimental terminal rather than a full-featured smartwatch keyboard. Compatibility depends on the exact T-Watch revision and connector fit.
What the Watch-Keyboard-C3 is
LILYGO describes the Watch-Keyboard-C3 V1.0 as an ESP32-C3 board with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a mini-pin QWERTY keyboard, intended for use with a T-Watch or as a decorative accessory. The board listing includes the keyboard board, a motor/microphone/speaker module, and a 0.5 mm 1×6P flexible cable. See LILYGO’s Watch-Keyboard-C3 listing.
The ESP32-C3 is the module’s controller; the product page identifies wireless connectivity but does not specify detailed keyboard dimensions, key travel, typing performance, or battery impact. Treat “tiny terminal” as a useful description of the example workflow, not a claim that it replaces a phone or computer.
Will it fit your T-Watch?
Check the watch revision and connector arrangement before ordering or attaching the module. LILYGO’s T-Watch 2021 documentation describes an ESP32 watch with a 1.54-inch, 240×240 touchscreen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2, USB-C charging, and a 380 mAh LiPo battery; those details apply to that documented watch, not necessarily every T-Watch revision. The page does not establish universal Watch-Keyboard-C3 compatibility across all T-Watch models. Consult the exact revision’s documentation and compare its connector and cable fit with the keyboard module before proceeding. LILYGO T-Watch 2021 documentation.

How to try the terminal examples
LILYGO’s official T-WATCH-Keyboard repository describes a workflow based on its TTGO_TWatch_Library dependency and provides examples for display output, Wi-Fi scanning, connecting to a local Wi-Fi network, clearing text from the screen, and toggling the display backlight. The repository is the reference for the current project files and setup details: T-WATCH-Keyboard on GitHub.

Upload the code, then check the watch display and backlight behavior. The examples demonstrate functions, not a complete command-line interface or a general-purpose text editor.

Don’t confuse it with the T-Keyboard
LILYGO also documents a related standalone T-Keyboard design, but its published specifications are not specifications for the Watch-Keyboard-C3. The T-Keyboard design uses a 0.99-inch GC9D01 display with 40×160 RGB resolution, a four-line SPI interface, and a 3D-printed shell; its stated operating temperature is −20°C to 70°C. See LILYGO’s T-Keyboard page. These details describe a separate design and should not be used to infer the Watch-Keyboard-C3’s display, enclosure, or temperature range.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What it can—and cannot—tell you before purchase
The official documentation establishes a physical QWERTY keyboard, wireless capability, example projects, and included cable and audio/motor module. It does not establish typing speed, key feel, long-term reliability, battery life while using the keyboard, or real-world terminal performance. Those qualities should not be assumed from the feature list.
