What Starkey announced for Livio AI
In its August 27, 2018 announcement, Starkey described Livio AI as a hearing aid with integrated sensors and artificial intelligence, alongside features intended to track “brain and body health.” The company said its Thrive app combined body and brain activity in a Thrive Wellness Score. These were manufacturer descriptions, not independent evidence of clinical benefit.
In a 2019 feature announcement, Starkey listed language translation in 27 languages, as well as features including fall alerts, heart-rate measurement, voice-to-text transcription, and a rechargeable option. These historical claims should not be taken as confirmation that every feature is available on every Livio AI configuration today.
Does Livio AI translate languages?
Starkey promoted language translation for Livio AI in 2019. However, Starkey’s current Thrive translation FAQ says the feature is available with select technology levels of Evolv AI and Livio Edge AI. It does not name original Livio AI in that eligibility statement, so current translation support for a particular legacy Livio AI device is unresolved.

The Thrive app is listed as connectable with Livio AI, but app connectivity alone does not establish that every current app feature works with that model. They do not show that Livio AI measures cognition, detects dementia or cognitive decline, prevents disease, or provides a clinically validated brain-health diagnosis. What to check before relying on features
- Identify the exact hearing-aid model and technology level; do not assume another Livio-family model has the same features.
- Ask Starkey or your hearing healthcare professional whether the specific device, app version, phone operating system, and region support the feature you want.
- For translation, confirm current eligibility and remember that Starkey’s FAQ requires an internet connection.
- For hearing needs and fitting, consult a hearing healthcare professional rather than treating a generic online listing as a substitute for assessment and follow-up.
