The Longines Heritage Classic with sector dial is a 38.50 mm automatic watch styled after the brand’s 1930s designs. The ivory-dial leather-strap version is reference L2.828.4.73.0; the black-dial steel-bracelet version is L2.828.4.53.6. Check the reference before comparing specifications or prices, since the two configurations are not interchangeable.

How the two sector-dial references differ
Longines lists a second configuration, the black-dial L2.828.4.53.6, with a stainless-steel bracelet. Reference numbers matter when checking a listing: dial color and finish, bracelet or strap, and regional pricing can vary. The specifications above are for L2.828.4.73.0; consult the exact reference’s product page before assuming every detail carries over to the bracelet version.
| Reference | Dial | Wearing configuration | Regional price shown |
|---|---|---|---|
| L2.828.4.73.0 | Opaline ivory | Leather strap with buckle | CHF 2,250 on Longines’ Swiss page accessed in 2026; a regional display, not a universal or guaranteed transaction price. |
| L2.828.4.53.6 | Black | Stainless-steel bracelet | ₹285,000 maximum retail price including GST on Longines’ India page accessed in 2026. The page says this applies to imports from 1 September 2025; retailers set their own prices, and stock may reflect an earlier MRP. |
These figures come from different regional pages and currencies, so they are not a like-for-like price comparison. Local price and availability can change; confirm both with Longines or a retailer in your market.

Why the dial is called a sector dial
A sector dial divides the face into distinct visual zones, using contrasting tracks and markers to make the layout read as a series of concentric sections. Longines places the Heritage Classic collection in the tradition of its 1930s and 1940s models. In a 7 June 2021 announcement, the brand said the sector-dial version drew inspiration specifically from its 1930s pieces and adapted their period aesthetics for contemporary tastes. Longines’ announcement does not claim the modern watch is a reissue of one exact historical reference.
For the model’s release chronology, specialist publication Time and Watches reports that the silver sector-dial version launched in 2019 and that Longines presented a black sector-dial variant in 2021. It also describes the black dial as three differently finished zones with a small-seconds counter at six o’clock. Those dates and design details are reported by Time and Watches, rather than specified on Longines’ current product listing.

What to check before choosing a reference
- Exact reference: Match the full code on the watch or listing to L2.828.4.73.0 or L2.828.4.53.6; do not rely on a shortened product name.
- Dial and finish: Choose between the opaline ivory and black configurations based on the appearance you want.
- Strap or bracelet: The ivory reference is listed with a leather strap and buckle; the black reference with a steel bracelet.
- Local price and stock: Regional Longines prices do not establish a current price or availability in another country. Verify the seller’s current offer and the reference in stock.
- Water resistance: The ivory reference’s official listing states 3 bar. Treat that as a specification, not as an activity recommendation; the listing does not establish suitability for a particular use.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
