Hublot and designer Samuel Ross marked the launch of the limited-edition Big Bang Unico SR_A by Samuel Ross All Black at a London event on March 4, 2026. It is the first SR_A signature watch to use Hublot’s in-house Unico chronograph movement—not the first watch in the Hublot–Ross collaboration, which began in 2020 and previously produced SR_A Tourbillon editions.
What Hublot and Samuel Ross celebrated in London
The event took place at CÉ LA VI London, on the rooftop of the new Glass Cube building designed by architect Renzo Piano. Hublot’s Japanese-language announcement, published March 6, 2026, describes a gathering of creators and talent from fashion, design, and culture. Hublot describes the new watch as a limited edition and identifies it as the first SR_A signature watch equipped with the company’s in-house developed and manufactured Unico chronograph movement. The release frames the partnership around structure, material innovation, and contemporary industrial design, but does not publish a full technical specification sheet for this model. How the All Black Unico fits the collaboration
Hublot says its partnership with Ross began in 2020. By the 2026 announcement, the pair had developed three SR_A Tourbillon editions. The All Black Unico is a new chapter in that work, not Ross’s first Hublot watch overall: Hublot’s 2022 account identifies the Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross as his first wristwatch collaboration with the brand. Ross received the Hublot Design Prize in 2019, then was announced as an official brand ambassador in 2020, when the REFORM sculpture was unveiled. Hublot’s profile describes his practice as crossing disciplines and points to common interests in materials, technique, and innovation. In that profile, Ross characterized Hublot as combining tradition and innovation and emphasized the reinvention of materials. He described the collaboration as a way of making decisions “quickly, efficiently and precisely.” Those are Ross’s own comments on the partnership, rather than independent assessments of the watch. The 2022 Big Bang Tourbillon is a different watch
The earlier Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel Ross provides context for the collaboration’s design language, but its specifications should not be attributed to the 2026 All Black Unico. Hublot’s May 18, 2022 release described the Tourbillon as a 44 mm titanium model with titanium honeycomb mesh across the sapphire dial, case, case back, and strap structure. That Tourbillon used Hublot’s HUB6035 calibre: 282 components, a 3 Hz beat rate, and a 72-hour power reserve. Hublot stated a production quantity of 50 pieces. These details belong to the 2022 Tourbillon, not the 2026 Unico chronograph. Hublot’s 2022 model release

Hublot linked the Tourbillon’s geometry to Ross’s design language and the REFORM sculpture, which combined granite and steel and was unveiled in 2020 for the brand’s 40th anniversary. The earlier watch and sculpture help explain the partnership’s recurring interest in bold forms and material contrasts, without establishing the construction details of the new All Black model. Hublot’s reviewed 2026 announcement does not state the All Black Unico’s case dimensions, exact edition quantity, retail price, or current stock. The limited-edition label alone does not establish how many watches will be made or whether one is available now.
