The Longines Spirit Flyback Titanium is the more conventional aviation-inspired chronograph, with a bidirectional rotating bezel, flyback function and titanium case. The TUDOR Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition is a cycling-oriented instrument with a black carbon-composite case, fixed bezel and cycling-focused tachymeter. Both offer long stated power reserves, but their bezel designs, materials and straps make them different kinds of watches. The comparison below uses manufacturer specifications and U.S. list prices captured on October 8, 2026—not independent wear or performance tests.

Which one better fits your intended use?
Choose the Longines for a rotating bezel and aviation-inspired design
The Spirit Flyback Titanium pairs an aviation-inspired look with two distinct timing controls: a bidirectional rotating bezel and a flyback chronograph. The bezel can be positioned for elapsed-time tracking; the flyback function lets the wearer reset and restart the chronograph in one action. The titanium case and the choice of bracelet or nylon strap also make this the more conventional, configurable option of the pair.
Longines lists a screw-in crown, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, anthracite dial and Super-LumiNova. The cited movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a monocrystalline silicon balance-spring. These are manufacturer specifications, not evidence of comparative accuracy or real-world durability.

Choose the TUDOR for its cycling-oriented tachymeter and fixed strap bars
The Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition is designed around cycling rather than aviation. TUDOR says the tachymeter scale is arranged for the speeds cyclists can sustain. Its 60-minute bezel is fixed, so it does not rotate like the Longines bezel. The case is matte black carbon composite, and the watch comes on a single-piece black fabric strap.
The model is reference M25827KN-0001. TUDOR identifies its movement as Manufacture Calibre MT5813, a self-winding mechanical chronograph with a bidirectional rotor, COSC certification and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. “FXD” refers to the family’s extra-robust fixed strap bars, according to TUDOR’s explanation of the Pelagos FXD.

Case size, materials and fit
The stated case diameters are close—42 mm for Longines and 43 mm for TUDOR—but diameter alone cannot predict fit. The cited TUDOR listing also gives a 22 mm lug width and 13.2 mm thickness; the cited Longines listing does not provide matching dimensions in the information presented here. Neither set of specifications establishes how either watch will feel on a particular wrist, and no comparative weight figure is established.
Material may be the more decisive distinction: Longines uses titanium with a ceramic bezel, while TUDOR uses black carbon composite. Those specifications do not, by themselves, establish which watch is lighter, more comfortable or more resistant to damage in daily use. If fit matters, try the specific configuration on your wrist rather than choosing by diameter or material name alone.

What the water-resistance ratings do—and do not—tell you
Longines lists 10 bar water resistance; TUDOR lists 100 m / 330 ft. These are manufacturer ratings, not a recommendation that either watch is suitable for every water activity. Consider the intended activity and the manufacturer’s guidance rather than treating the numbers as a guarantee for a particular use.

- Pick the TUDOR if you want a cycling-oriented tachymeter presentation, fixed strap bars, a black carbon-composite case, a fabric strap or the slightly longer stated power reserve.
- Try both before choosing if wrist fit is the deciding factor; the published specifications do not establish comparative comfort, weight or performance.
