The Longines Symphonette is an oval-case women’s watch collection, but the available details are tied to specific references and a 2015 review—not a current catalog or a new hands-on test. Time+Tide’s Nola Martin reviewed reference L2.306.0.83.0, a quartz model with a diamond-set steel case, mother-of-pearl dial and black alligator strap. Its dimensions and specifications should not be confused with those of other Symphonette references.
What the 2015 review says about the Symphonette
Nola Martin’s 2015 Time+Tide review presents the Symphonette as a women’s watch collection built around a sleek, curved oval case. Martin wrote that the case shape was the first thing to stand out; she also described its pronounced curvature as comfortable. That comfort comment is her reported impression, not a finding from a current test.

The review describes steel models in four sizes, from extra small to large, alongside steel and rose-gold versions with different dial, strap and bracelet treatments. It says the collection uses ETA quartz movements. These are the 2015 article’s descriptions and do not establish what Longines sells today.

Martin describes the dial as twelve pieces of mother-of-pearl bearing Arabic numerals, arranged around a central oval mother-of-pearl inset. The review also says diamond-set Symphonette models used Top Wesselton diamonds, with a collection-wide total ranging from 0.162 to 0.537 carats depending on the model. Those material and diamond details are attributed to the article; they were not independently corroborated by a manufacturer source.
Why the reference number matters
Symphonette is a collection, not a single specification. A separate Bucherer / Tourneau listing for reference L2.305.4.87.6 describes a watch measuring 29.4 × 18.9 mm, with a stainless-steel case, quartz caliber 963, 30 m water resistance, sapphire crystal, white mother-of-pearl dial with diamond markers and steel bracelet. The listing showed the item out of stock when captured. These details belong to L2.305.4.87.6, not to the reviewed L2.306.0.83.0.
When identifying a Symphonette or comparing listings, match the complete reference number first. Then compare dimensions, case material and diamond setting, dial, strap or bracelet, movement caliber, water resistance, crystal, condition, included papers and box, seller warranty, and asking price. The two available descriptions do not constitute a complete catalog.
Historical price is not a current valuation
Time+Tide’s 2015 article gives A$5,275 as the price for L2.306.0.83.0 and A$1,600–A$5,525 as the range for the collection. These are historical Australian retail figures from that article, not current prices, confirmed resale values or a guide to what a particular watch should cost now. Current Longines availability and current pre-owned stock are not established by the cited listings.

Service and owner resources
Longines recommends taking or sending watches needing adjustment, maintenance or repair to an authorized service center. Its US service-pricing page lists quartz service and battery-service prices in US dollars, excludes tax and shipping, and notes that prices can change without notice. Check the page and local service options directly with Longines for current information.
For documentation, Longines’ care and user-manual page lets users search by watch name, reference or caliber. A search result with no matches does not establish that no manual exists; try the exact reference or caliber and consult Longines if the search remains unsuccessful.

What is a Top Wesselton diamond?
Time+Tide uses “Top Wesselton” for the diamonds it describes in the Symphonette collection. The article does not provide an independent grading record for the reviewed watch. For a specific pre-owned example, ask for documentation that identifies the diamonds and matches the exact reference rather than relying on the collection description alone.
