Louis Erard’s 2021 Le Triptyque is a three-watch collaboration with designer Alain Silberstein: La Semaine, Le Régulateur II and Le Chrono Monopoussoir. Each model has a different display or complication, while sharing a titanium case design. Louis Erard announced each watch in a 178-piece edition and the boxed set in a 78-set edition; its launch prices were CHF 3,500 for the entry model and CHF 11,111 for the set.
What is included in Le Triptyque?
Le Triptyque is a collection of three distinct watches, conceived as a connected artistic composition rather than one watch offered in three variants. Louis Erard said the collaboration began in 2019, when Silberstein revisited the brand’s Le Régulateur. The Triptyque followed in 2021. Louis Erard’s launch announcement describes the three watches as panels in a larger composition, with Silberstein given carte blanche to develop their design.

The watches are complementary, not direct substitutes: one emphasizes a playful calendar, one presents time in a regulator layout, and one adds chronograph timing.
How the three watches are designed
All three use the same case concept, described by Louis Erard as a frame with vertical sidebars called brancards. The brand specifies a combination of grade 2 and grade 5 titanium, with microblasted and polished finishes, plus a conical crown. The launch announcement gives water resistance as 100 m and describes a double-layer nylon strap with a quick-fit closure. These are collection-level release specifications; the announcement does not assign different case or strap specifications to each model.

The contrasting hand shapes and colors make the displays part of the design rather than merely functional indicators. La Semaine makes the calendar expressive through its mood-face day display; Le Régulateur II uses three distinct hands to separate minute, hour and seconds readings; the chronograph combines central time and chronograph-seconds hands with its 30-minute register.
Edition sizes and prices
Louis Erard announced each individual watch as limited to 178 pieces and the collector’s box as limited to 78 sets. The following are historical launch figures from the brand’s 2021 announcement, not a statement of current market value:

The official Le Triptyque product page currently displays CHF 11,111 excluding tax, identifies the set as a 78-piece limited edition, and offers a waitlist. It also lists a three-year warranty. A displayed price and waitlist are page status, not confirmation that a set can be purchased now; availability and tax treatment can change.
For context, the separate official La Semaine listing gives that individual model a 40 mm case, 10 bar (100 m/330 ft) water resistance, Sellita SW220-1 automatic calibre, approximately 38-hour power reserve, black nylon strap and a displayed price of CHF 4,000 excluding tax. That listing concerns La Semaine individually; its price should not be confused with the 2021 entry price or the complete Triptyque set price.

What the edition says about availability and resale
Louis Erard says two earlier 178-piece series with Silberstein sold within hours and attracted secondary-market interest. Those are the brand’s own claims, not independently verified market-wide results, and they do not establish that Le Triptyque appreciated or indicate a resale price. Auction house Phillips has catalogued a Triptyque lot, confirming that the collection has appeared in an auction context, but a catalogue entry is not evidence of a current listing, completed sale or valuation: Phillips’ catalogued lot.
How to distinguish this Triptych from later releases
The name can cause confusion because Louis Erard and Silberstein released other related collections later. The 2021 Le Triptyque covered here consists of La Semaine, Le Régulateur II and Le Chrono Monopoussoir.

- A different khaki triptych announced in October 2023 combined two previously released models with a regulator tourbillon, a brand-first complication. Who the collection is for
Le Triptyque is best understood as a collector-oriented limited edition for someone drawn to Silberstein’s graphic design and the contrast between three different watch functions. The set’s appeal lies in owning the three as a coordinated composition; someone seeking only one type of display may find the individual model more relevant. The announced prices and small editions make it a high-cost, limited-run proposition, while the available auction evidence does not support a claim about investment performance.
Silberstein’s description of the design captures its playful aim: “A watch is a search for harmony.” Louis Erard also quotes him saying the watches are made to “awake the inner child” and that his work is finished when they make someone smile.
