What makes the Escale stone watches different?
These are not simply conventional Escale watches with decorative stone dials. Louis Vuitton’s collection story says natural ornamental stone appears in the dial and middle case, and describes the editions as designed by Artistic Director Matthieu Hegi in collaboration with artisans at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. The use of stone across two visible parts gives the material a larger role in the watch’s appearance than a dial-only treatment would.
Louis Vuitton describes tiger’s eye through its tonal striations, malachite through green mineral banding, and turquoise through vivid blue color and organic veining. Those are the brand’s descriptions, not independent assessments of particular watches. Because natural stone patterns vary, an individual watch need not look exactly like its product photograph. Louis Vuitton’s ornamental-stone collection story identifies all three variants and their design attribution.

Malachite or tiger’s eye: which is the more compelling choice?
Malachite in platinum
The malachite edition combines a green, banded stone with 950/1000 platinum. Louis Vuitton describes the center dial as malachite and the middle case as a single ring of malachite. Its $64,500 US listing is $10,000 above the tiger’s-eye model’s listed US price, while both editions are listed at 30 pieces. The listed materials and price make this the option for a buyer drawn to the green stone and platinum pairing; the available specifications do not establish that the price difference buys a performance advantage.
Tiger’s eye in yellow gold
The tiger’s-eye model pairs the stone’s brown-and-gold tonal striations, as described by Louis Vuitton, with 750/1000 yellow gold. It is listed at $54,500 in the US and also limited to 30 pieces. Its product page states chronometer certification and gives an accuracy figure of -4/+6 seconds per day, the same accuracy range specified in the LFT023 technical documentation. The extra accuracy detail on this listing is not evidence that the malachite model uses a different movement or has poorer timekeeping.

Turquoise
Louis Vuitton’s story presents turquoise as the third stone option, describing vivid blue color and organic veining, with the dial and middle case cut from a single block. The searched US product pages did not establish a price, edition size or complete technical specification for this variant, so it cannot be compared on those points without current product information from Louis Vuitton.
What movement and performance details are specified?
Both fully specified product listings identify the LFT023 as a self-winding mechanical caliber and state a 50-hour power reserve. Louis Vuitton’s technical sheet gives the movement a frequency of 4 Hz and describes a 22K rose-gold micro-rotor. For the Escale version, it specifies 147 components and 32 jewels; its separate Tambour figures are 145 components and 31 jewels, so those should not be attributed to these Escale watches.

The technical sheet says the LFT023 is chronometer-certified by the Geneva Chronometric Observatory under ISO 3159 and gives a stated accuracy range of -4/+6 seconds per day. The tiger’s-eye product listing repeats that range; the malachite product listing states chronometer certification but does not give the accuracy range there. The two US product pages provide a useful side-by-side basis for comparing case material, stone, edition size, price and listed movement specifications. They are manufacturer listings, not independent reviews. No hands-on evaluation, long-term ownership evidence or independent timekeeping results are established here, so claims about comfort, durability in daily wear, finishing quality in person or real-world accuracy would go beyond the available evidence.
