Its front shows the time; the reverse displays the chronograph. Louis Vuitton developed it with Atelier Akrivia founder Rexhep Rexhepi, and the launch edition was reported at ten watches in 2023.
What makes the LVRR-01 unusual?
This is a collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Atelier Akrivia, not simply a Louis Vuitton watch fitted with an outside movement. Louis Vuitton’s account describes a shared creative vision between Jean Arnault and Rexhep Rexhepi, who developed the custom calibre. The brand says each component is hand-decorated. The platinum case reinterprets the Tambour design under the supervision of master case maker Jean-Pierre Hagmann.
The watch presents two distinct faces: a smoked, translucent sapphire front for time and a grand feu enamel reverse for the chronograph. Louis Vuitton also shows the individually numbered watch with a bespoke, hand-painted trunk. The official story is at Louis Vuitton’s LVRR-01 collaboration page.
How the chronograph and sonnerie work
The monopusher controls the chronograph in sequence: one press starts it, the next stops it, and a third resets it. While the chronograph is running, the sonnerie chimes at each passing minute. It is therefore tied to elapsed chronograph time, rather than being an always-on hour chime. The reverse has a 60-minute red counter and a 60-second blue counter.

Louis Vuitton’s technical document describes the watch as a two-sided, hand-wound movement with a chiming chronograph developed and assembled in the Akrivia workshop in Geneva. Its operating instructions and specifications appear in the official LVRR-01 technical document.

Launch price and edition size
Monochrome Watches reported on 9 October 2023 that the ten-piece edition launched at CHF 450,000 excluding taxes, or EUR 540,000 including French taxes. These are dated launch prices, not a current retail quote or a resale valuation. Current availability and present-day pricing are not established here.
Winding, care and water resistance
The watch is wound by turning its crown clockwise; Louis Vuitton’s instructions say winding is complete after 30 turns and caution against forcing the mechanism. The brand rates it at 3 ATM (30 metres), but explicitly defines that as splash resistance, not permission to immerse the watch. Do not operate the crown or chronograph pusher underwater.
