Its three openworked bridges do more than frame the dial: they support the gear train, barrel and tourbillon, and serve as the movement’s mainplate. The 2024 update refined the case and display while retaining the watch’s signature suspended architecture.
What is the pink-gold reference?
The model covered here is Girard-Perregaux reference 99296-52-3434-5CC, officially named the Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges. It is the pink-gold version, not the separate white-gold reference 99296-53-3559-5CC, whose bridges are black-tinted and which Girard-Perregaux lists as limited to eight pieces. Girard-Perregaux’s US product page identifies the pink-gold watch and its current specifications.
How the three bridges work
Girard-Perregaux says the bridges support the gear train, barrel and tourbillon while also acting as the movement’s mainplate. By dispensing with a conventional mainplate, the construction exposes the movement and creates the impression that its components are suspended between the bridges. The indexes are fixed to a flange attached to the case, rather than supported by a conventional dial.
The tourbillon sits at the bottom of the display. Its lyre-shaped cage is made of Grade 5 titanium; a blued hand turns once per minute to indicate small seconds. The brand specifies 79 components and a weight of 0.25 grams for the cage. A white-gold micro-rotor beneath the barrel provides automatic winding, as reported in the 2024 launch coverage.

What changed in the 2024 version?
In its report published on 30 August 2024, Monochrome Watches described a redesigned rose-gold center case with shorter lugs and a rounder profile. It also noted a larger, reshaped crown and more symmetrical, box-shaped sapphire crystals. These are launch-report details rather than the result of an independent comparative test. Monochrome’s first look also records display and strap changes.

Price and edition context
Girard-Perregaux’s US product page currently displays USD 180,000 and offers contact and reservation actions. That is the current amount shown on the US page, not a guaranteed transaction price or a global price.
For the 2024 launch, Monochrome reported prices of CHF 164,000, GBP 146,000, EUR 180,000 and USD 171,000. Those figures are launch-era prices in the respective markets; the USD 171,000 report is distinct from the USD 180,000 currently displayed by Girard-Perregaux for the US.
Rank #3
- Girard Perregaux Caliber GP08400, beats at 21,600 (3 Hz) vph, composed out of 208 parts, contains 29 Jewels & has an approximate power reserve of 48 hours
- The balance wheel is secured in place by a black PVD coated bridge at 6 o'clock. The generous proportions of the balance wheel (10.15mm in diameter) makes it less subject to disturbances and thus more accurate.
- The micro-rotor is located to the top left of the movement, while the main-spring barrel is located to the right side for a symmetrical design.
The pink-gold watch should also be distinguished from two other editions. The white-gold reference 99296-53-3559-5CC has black-tinted bridges and is limited to eight pieces, according to Girard-Perregaux’s collection listing. The 2021 Aston Martin Edition is a separate titanium collaboration limited to 18 pieces. The brand’s wider Three Gold Bridges story reaches back to its historical creations; Girard-Perregaux says the contemporary watch is inspired by its famous 1889 pocket watch. In a 1 June 2021 release, Girard-Perregaux CEO Patrick Pruniaux described the design approach as turning functional elements into aesthetic features, citing the 1867 Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges. Aston Martin Media’s release documents that collaboration and its edition size.
