What is the LVKV-02 GMR 6?
Louis Vuitton and Kari Voutilainen created the watch as a five-piece collaboration. Louis Vuitton’s product story says: “Designed and developed in collaboration with Master Watchmaker Kari Voutilainen, the LVKV-02 GMR 6 timepiece combines the unique talents of the Voutilainen workshop with those of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, for a limited-edition collection of five pieces.” That is the brand’s own description of the project, not an independent assessment. Louis Vuitton Japan identifies the model’s product code as WATP11 and describes the pieces as individually numbered.

The name “LVoutilainen” captures the partnership, while GMR 6 points to the watch’s travel-time display. The design brings together Louis Vuitton’s Damier visual language and Voutilainen’s guilloché work rather than treating the second time zone as a function separate from the watch’s decorative identity.
How does the second time zone work?
The hand-wound caliber displays local time alongside a second time zone on a 24-hour disc. Louis Vuitton Japan says the central hour hand can be adjusted by pressing the crown to show local time; the disc’s day-and-night indication helps distinguish the second zone’s half-day. At six o’clock, the display includes sun and moon imagery on a hand-engraved, enameled disc, according to the same release.

The movement also provides hours, minutes, seconds and a power-reserve indication. Its two direct-impulse escape wheels are among the technical details stated by Louis Vuitton Japan; the published material does not provide independent performance measurements.

The case is made of tantalum with platinum components or accents. Louis Vuitton Japan lists a 40.5 mm diameter, 12.54 mm thickness and 20 mm lug width. Its release specifies water resistance of 3 bar (30 m) and cautions that the watch is splash resistant but should not be immersed.
There is a small discrepancy between Louis Vuitton’s official pages: the US product story gives the thickness as 12.44 mm, while the Japan release gives 12.54 mm. The figures should not be conflated; the detailed dimensions above follow the Japanese specification.

The gold dial is assembled from four parts. Its hand-guilloché patterns draw on Louis Vuitton’s Damier motif and Voutilainen’s wave motif, while the hour circle is miniature-painted. Louis Vuitton Japan credits the painting to Maryna Bossy and says the circle uses 28 colors, takes 32 hours of painting and requires a separate eight hours of firing.
The same release describes miniature painting on each movement’s barrel cover. Each watch is delivered with a bespoke trunk made at Louis Vuitton’s Asnières workshop and hand-painted to echo the dial. These craft and production details are manufacturer-reported.
Edition size, price and availability
Louis Vuitton describes the edition as five pieces, and the Japanese release says each is individually numbered. The official materials cited here do not state a current price or establish whether any example is currently available. A five-piece production run alone does not confirm present retail or resale availability.
