The Luminox Automatic Sport Timer XS.0924 is worth considering if you want a 42 mm, 200 m rated automatic with a day-date display, a unidirectional bezel and a vintage-leaning look, and you are comfortable buying from a market where the price and movement have been confirmed. It is less compelling if you want a slim or small-wristed watch, because its 13 mm thickness and 42 mm case are substantial, and it is harder to justify if you need a single, verified caliber before you buy, since Luminox’s regional pages name two different movements.
Who this watch suits
- A good fit: buyers who want a sport-oriented automatic with a visible day-date window, a sapphire crystal, tritium-tube hands and markers, and a 200 m manufacturer rating for swimming, snorkelling or general water use.
- A weaker fit: buyers with smaller wrists or a preference for dress-watch proportions. A 42 mm case with 13 mm thickness and a 185 g listed weight will sit noticeably larger than many automatics.
- Not yet a clear buy: anyone who needs the movement caliber to be fixed and stated in writing for their country, or who wants a verified dive-use qualification. The published sources do not establish either of these.
This assessment draws on Luminox’s published specifications and regional product listings, plus one independent video review. It does not include wear-testing, timing measurements or luminosity tests, and every performance claim below is attributed to its source.

The movement: the one thing to verify before buying
Luminox describes the XS.0924 as having a Sellita automatic movement, and its marketing describes it as combining “a Swiss automatic movement with a sporty vintage look.” The problem is the caliber name. Luminox’s regional pages do not agree.
| Market page | Movement named | Other movement details listed |
|---|---|---|
| United States | SELLITA SW 220-1 | Not stated on the page reviewed |
| Europe | SW 220-1 | Not stated on the page reviewed |
| United Kingdom | SW 220-1 | Not stated on the page reviewed |
| Japan | Swiss Automatic SELLITA Caliber SW200-1 | 26 jewels, 28,800 vph, 38-hour power reserve |
Three of the four official pages name the SW 220-1, and one names the SW200-1. The Japan page is the only source for the jewel count, beat rate and 38-hour power reserve, and those figures are attached to the SW200-1 caliber. Do not assume they apply to the SW 220-1. Until the manufacturer in your market confirms which caliber is supplied, treat the movement as partly unresolved. Ask Luminox support or your authorized retailer for the caliber in writing before purchase.

Case, crystal and bezel
The 42 mm case is the defining dimension. Its 13 mm height is not unusual for a sport automatic with a day-date movement, but it will read chunky next to a dress watch. The case is 316L stainless steel, and the bracelet is listed as the same material, which suits a daily-wear sport watch.
The sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating is the most durable element of the front face. The bezel is unidirectional and rotating, and the US page describes a blue ceramic bezel ring. The Europe page describes a screw-in crown with crown protection, and the US page describes a see-through screw-in case back. These are construction descriptions from Luminox, not inspection findings.
Rank #2
- The automatic sport timer from Luminox is sporty and elegant at the same time and is perfect for athletes
- Thanks to the power reserve of the automatic winding, the watch runs even at night when it has been removed and only stops when it has not been worn for around 38 hours
- The silver-coloured strap of the watch is made of high-quality leather and offers a firm hold on your wrist thanks to the folding clasp
- Thanks to the light tubes in green and orange, the clock lights up to 25 years in all lighting conditions and offers good readability even in the dark
- The watch has a water resistance of 20 bar. It can be used for snorkelling and device-free freediving at a low depth of up to 200 metres
Water resistance and illumination
Luminox rates the XS.0924 at 200 m / 660 ft / 20 ATM. Treat this as the manufacturer’s rating. No independent pressure test, certification or model-specific dive-use qualification was established for this reference, so a rating of 200 m tells you the design is intended for significant water exposure, not that you should use it for professional diving without checking the terms with Luminox.
The tritium-tube illumination is described by Luminox as glowing constantly for up to 25 years. That is a manufacturer claim about tritium longevity. Luminosity and duration were not tested here, and real-world brightness will depend on the individual tubes and on lighting conditions.

Price and where to buy
Prices on Luminox’s regional pages were observed on 8 October 2026 and are not a global price or an availability guarantee. Do not convert them to compare markets, because each figure comes from a different regional storefront.
| Market | Price shown on official page | Warranty |
|---|---|---|
| United States | $1,875 | Not stated in the sources reviewed |
| Europe | €1,495 | Two years, covering purchases through Luminox’s official site or authorized retailers |
| United Kingdom | £1,609 | Not stated in the sources reviewed |
Warranty terms follow the market and seller. Before buying, confirm the warranty length, the seller’s status as authorized, and current stock. Buying from an unauthorized seller may put a Europe-listed warranty out of reach.

Strap and fit
The 24 mm lug width gives you a range of strap options. Luminox lists official 24 mm strap products on its regional pages, so start there. If you consider a third-party strap, verify the end fit and spring-bar length before buying, because a mismatch can lead to a loose or scratched case.
Independent review coverage
aBlogtoWatch published a video review titled “Luminox Automatic Sport Timer 0924 Watch Review” on 14 February 2021. Its description identifies the 42 mm case, automatic movement, day-date, tritium tubes, sapphire crystal and 200 m rating. Its specific wear, accuracy and comfort conclusions should be checked against the original video before you rely on them, because this assessment does not reproduce or verify them.

Buying checklist
- Confirm the reference is XS.0924 on the box, card or listing, and not another Sport Timer reference.
- Ask the seller or Luminox which movement caliber the watch in your market contains, SW 220-1 or SW200-1, and get the answer in writing.
- Check the price and warranty on the official page for your market at the time of purchase.
- Confirm the seller is authorized, and check the return policy and current stock.
- Try the watch on, or check the case diameter and 13 mm thickness against your wrist, before committing.
Verdict
The Luminox Automatic Sport Timer XS.0924 offers a large, 200 m rated automatic with a day-date display, sapphire crystal and tritium illumination at a price that sits in the mid-range for a Swiss-movement sport watch. Buy it if the size suits your wrist and you can confirm the movement caliber and the local price with an authorized seller. Pass on it if you need a smaller watch, a verified dive qualification or a movement specification you cannot confirm.
