The name covers a family, though. The 3860 series includes several references, such as the XS.3862, XS.3863, XS.3875 and XS.3877, and they differ in dial, strap and market. Identify the exact reference before you rely on any detail below, because colour, lume layout and movement wording can change from one reference to the next.
This is a specification-based review. It draws on Luminox’s own product pages for the United States, Europe and Japan, and it does not include timing, water-resistance or wear testing by the author. Where a figure comes from the manufacturer alone, the text says so.

Which reference you are looking at
Luminox’s Europe collection page lists four references in the 3860 series. The table below sets out the details that the sources tie to specific references. Where a source does not give a value for a reference, the cell reads “not stated”.
| Reference | Source market | Listed size and weight | Movement as listed | Strap as listed | Notable detail |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XS.3875 | Europe product listing | 45 mm case, 14 mm thick, 110 g listed | Swiss automatic Sellita SW 220-1 | 24 mm nitrile rubber | Constant glow for up to 25 years (Luminox claim) |
| XS.3862 | United States product page | 45 mm case, 110 g listed; thickness not stated on this page | Swiss automatic Sellita SW 220-1, day-date display | 24 mm rubber | US price displayed at time of access; check the live page |
| XS.3876.RB | Japan product page (limited edition) | 45 mm by 14 mm | Sellita SW200-1, 26 jewels, 28,800 vph, 38-hour power reserve | 24 mm cut-to-fit natural rubber | 500 pieces worldwide; release date 25 July 2023 |
| XS.3863 and XS.3877 | Series listing only | not stated | not stated | not stated | Confirm on the reference’s own page |
Two comparisons the sources do not fully support are worth flagging. The XS.3862 and XS.3875 pages differ mainly in market, the day-date display and the strap wording. The sources do not establish a case, dial or lume difference between them, so do not assume one. For the same reason, a price for the whole series is not a price for any single reference.
#1 Best Overall

Case, size and weight
- Diameter and thickness: Luminox lists 45 mm across and 14 mm thick for the 3860 series. These are manufacturer specifications; they have not been independently measured for this article.
- Case material: The case is CARBONOX+. Luminox’s US page calls it “a ground-breaking material that is light, durable, hypoallergenic, weatherproof, and shock and scratch resistant.” Those properties are Luminox’s description of the material, not results from independent testing.
- Case back and components: The US page describes an exhibition case back and 316L stainless-steel components.
- Listed weight: 110 g for the XS.3862 (US) and XS.3875 (Europe) listings. The figure is the manufacturer’s listed weight and does not say whether it includes the strap in every case.
Movement and day-date display
Most 3860-series listings name the same movement: a Swiss automatic Sellita SW 220-1 with a day-date display. That is the movement to check for on the reference you are considering.
The Sellita naming difference
The Japan page for the XS.3876.RB names a Sellita SW200-1 instead of the SW 220-1 used on other listings. Both are Sellita automatic calibres, but the sources do not explain the difference, so check the movement name on the caseback documentation or the retailer’s listing before purchase.

- Carbonox+
- Sapphire Crystal
- 316L Stainless Steel Back
- Swiss Automatic - SELLITA SW220-1
XS.3876.RB: the limited reference
- Quantity: 500 pieces worldwide, according to Luminox Japan’s product page.
- Release: The page gives a release date of 25 July 2023. Whether the reference is still sold new is not established by the sources.
- Movement figures: 26 jewels, 28,800 vph and a 38-hour power reserve. These apply to this reference only and should not be applied to the wider series.
- Strap: 24 mm natural rubber, cut to fit.
Water resistance and crystal
Luminox rates the 3860 series at 200 m, 660 ft or 20 ATM, and lists a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. These are ratings for the watch as designed, not results from testing carried out for this article. Water resistance also depends on the condition of the seals and the case back, so have the watch serviced on Luminox’s schedule if it has been opened or exposed to shock.
Lume and the 25-year claim
The Europe product listing states “Constant glow for up to 25 years.” Luminox presents this as a product specification, and the sources do not say how it was measured or under what conditions. Treat it as the manufacturer’s claim. Lume-tube colour varies by reference, according to Luminox’s series sheet, so the glow colour and layout of your chosen reference should be confirmed on that reference’s page.

- Original bracelet for the Luminox series Navy Seal 3000
- The watch strap is made of rubber with stainless steel clasp in black and grey
- A strap changing tool is required to change the watch strap
- On the stainless steel clasp there is the Luminox logo
- The watch strap is 23 mm wide at the lug
Strap and fit
- Width: The listed strap is 24 mm wide, in rubber or nitrile rubber depending on the reference.
- Cut-to-fit: Some references, including the XS.3876.RB, use cut-to-fit straps. Check the strap style before buying, because a cut-to-fit strap needs trimming and the strap on another reference may not allow that.
- Replacement: A 24 mm replacement is a starting point only. Match the spring-bar length, the lug shape and the strap attachment style of your reference, not just the width.
- Comfort: The sources make no measured or reviewed comfort claim, so the fit on your wrist is not established here.
Buying: warranty, channel and price
Luminox states that its two-year warranty covers purchases made through its official websites or authorised retailers. Before you buy, confirm three things:
- The seller is an official Luminox website or an authorised retailer for your country.
- The listing names the exact reference, colour and strap you want.
- The price is current. The Europe collection page showed €1,295 for the 3860 series at the time it was checked. The US page showed a US price when accessed, but prices change, so the live page is the only reliable figure.
The sources did not verify any third-party marketplace listing, so the warranty position of a seller that is not named by Luminox should be checked directly with that seller.
Who this watch suits
- Buyers who want a 45 mm automatic with a Swiss movement and a 200 m rating in a carbon-composite case.
- Buyers who need a day-date display on the watch.
- Buyers who will buy from an official Luminox channel or an authorised retailer, and who want the two-year warranty.
- Buyers who are prepared to confirm the reference, movement name and strap style before ordering, rather than relying on series-level details.
- Buyers who want a limited reference should check whether the XS.3876.RB is still available new, since the sources do not establish its current availability.

The Bottom Line
The Luminox Master Carbon SEAL Automatic 45mm, in its 3860 series form, is a well-specified 45 mm automatic with a carbon-composite case, a Sellita movement, a 200 m rating and a listed weight of 110 g. Those are manufacturer specifications, and this review does not add measured results to them. Choose the reference first, then confirm its movement, strap and price on Luminox’s page for that reference.
