The announcement calls these three models new, although its reference list also includes the 39mm grey model, making four size-and-color combinations in the listed range. All use an openworked automatic calibre, a steel case rated to 200m water resistance and an integrated bracelet.
What was new in the January 2025 announcement?
Monochrome Watches reported the expansion on January 15, 2025. The three editions described as new were the 39mm blue model and the 42mm models in blue and grey. The article’s reference list also includes a 39mm grey watch, but does not present it as a new release in that announcement. The colors refer to the movement treatment visible beneath the sapphire dial plate, with a matching inner minute flange. The reported design also uses rhodium-plated hands and markers with partial Super-LumiNova. The 39mm version has an ML logo; the source does not list one for the 42mm version.
Case, dial and water resistance
Both sizes are specified at 11mm thick and share a stainless-steel, barrel-shaped case, a raised circular bezel with six double arms, brushed surfaces and polished accents. A flat sapphire crystal covers the dial, while a sapphire caseback exposes the movement. The source lists a screw-down crown and 200m water resistance.

That creates a more mechanical, layered look than a conventional solid dial, while the hands, markers and minute flange provide the key visual contrast. The specifications establish the shared dimensions and construction, but do not determine how either size will fit a particular wrist.
What movement powers the Aikon Automatic Skeleton?
The ML135 is an automatic, openworked calibre based on the Sellita SW200-1 and modified for Maurice Lacroix. Monochrome lists a custom openworked rotor, 26 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), and a 38-hour power reserve. The movement displays central hours, minutes and seconds; the date is omitted.

The listed reserve is the time the watch can run when fully wound and left unworn; it is not a guarantee of exact running time in every use. The source provides the movement specifications, not independent performance testing.
Bracelet and strap changes
The watch is supplied on an integrated five-link steel bracelet with a folding clasp and quick-release levers. Maurice Lacroix’s Easy Strap Exchange system allows changes to compatible rubber or leather straps. The January 2025 report does not give strap part numbers, so confirm compatibility with the exact case reference before ordering a replacement.

Reported launch prices and availability
Monochrome reported the following launch prices in January 2025. These are historical figures, not current quotes; the source specifies whether taxes were included for each currency.

Which listed version should you look for?
- For the newly announced smaller blue option, search reference AI6007-SS002-031-1.
- For a blue 42mm model, search AI6008-SS002-031-1.
- For a grey 42mm model, search AI6008-SS002-030-1.
- The 39mm grey reference is AI6007-SS002-030-1; it appears in the announcement’s range list but was not identified there as one of the three new editions.
These distinctions identify the listed combinations; they do not indicate that one size wears better or that one treatment is more legible. Those judgments depend on individual preference and fit.
