The 17 brands below cover those different uses, with recommendations attributed to the shopping guides that named them—not presented as independently tested winners.
Start with the shirt you actually need
“Which brand is the best for men’s shirts?” is easier to answer once you separate shirt types. A dress shirt and a relaxed Oxford may both button down the front, but they serve different occasions and can differ in collar, fit and formality. Linen, tees and polos fill other roles rather than acting as substitutes for either.

- Smart-casual: An Oxford is a useful everyday option. British GQ describes Oxford shirts as breathable basketweave cotton, often with a soft collar and a more relaxed fit than a dress shirt. The term is used flexibly in current retail, so check the fabric and cut rather than relying on the label alone.
- Formal or office wear: Look for the level of formality your workplace requires and check collar and sleeve measurements, as well as care instructions. A shirt described as non-iron is making a care claim; it does not establish how it will perform for every wearer.
- Warm weather: Linen is a natural option to consider. Compare its silhouette and intended use with the sharper, more structured appearance you may want for work.
- Casual basics: Tees and polos are useful for less formal settings, but they are not replacements for a collared button-up when the occasion calls for one.
For any category, compare fabric, fit, intended use, design and price. A striking pattern or luxury label signals a style direction, not measured durability or quality.

17 men’s shirt brands to consider
FashionBeans’ article dated 9 October 2026 presents its picks as an unranked editorial selection and discloses that it may receive compensation from links. Its brand and product choices are recommendations from that article, not the result of independent garment testing. The descriptions below keep that distinction clear.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Everyday and smart-casual shirts
- Asket: FashionBeans recommends the brand for everyday wear and names its Oxford Shirt as an example. Consider it if you want an Oxford-style button-up for regular use; check current fabric, fit and sizing details on the live listing.
- Ralph Lauren: Named by FashionBeans as a classic label. Its roundup includes a Polo Ralph Lauren Classic Fit Cotton Polo, an example of a casual collared shirt rather than a formal dress shirt.
- Tommy Hilfiger: FashionBeans includes a Heritage Oxford Shirt among its examples, placing the brand in the smart-casual Oxford category.
- Abercrombie & Fitch: FashionBeans characterizes the brand as leaning into classic American style. Treat that as the article’s editorial description, and judge an individual shirt by its cut and fabric.
- Everlane: FashionBeans names its Startup Shirt and Oxford variants. Compare the specific model’s intended use and measurements rather than assuming all variants fit the same way.
Linen and warm-weather options
- Luca Faloni: FashionBeans recommends it for Italian style and names the Versilia Linen Shirt. This is the roundup’s style positioning, not a universal verdict on the best linen shirt.
- Sunspel: The Standard’s UK shopping guide, dated 17 August 2026, lists a navy stripe linen shirt. British GQ also includes linen examples from Sunspel. Check the current listing for the precise fabric, pattern and availability.
- Arket: The Standard names a relaxed linen shirt in its UK guide. Its relaxed description is useful when comparing silhouettes, but the individual product listing should confirm current cut and composition.
Distinctive casual shirts
- Percival: FashionBeans recommends the brand for distinctive pieces and describes it as a source of bold patterns and unusual fabric. Its roundup names the Pablo Cuban Knit; check the current product details before treating that exact name or design as available.
- Corridor: The roundup includes Corridor’s Appalachian Plaid long-sleeve shirt, a pattern-led option to compare with plainer everyday shirts.
- Wax London: FashionBeans points to a seersucker Oxford. That description combines an Oxford reference with a warm-weather fabric; confirm the construction and current product details for the specific shirt.
- A.P.C.: FashionBeans characterizes it as a choice for subtle pattern. That is a styling cue from the article, not a measured assessment of workmanship.
- Barbour: Its official Shirt Guide suggests Oxford shirts for smart-casual outfits, tartan with casual tailoring, heavier shirts for colder weather and relaxed shirts worn open over a white tee. It sums up the Oxford idea as, “Find the perfect balance with our Oxford shirts.”
Formal, luxury and specialist picks
- State & Liberty: FashionBeans names The Belmont as one of its picks. The roundup does not establish independent performance findings for that product, so compare its current specifications and fit with your needs.
- Besnard: FashionBeans describes it as an option for business-casual dressing, with ready-to-wear and made-to-measure choices. Confirm which service and measurements apply to the shirt you are considering.
- Burberry: FashionBeans includes a Stretch Cotton Shirt and names the label among classic choices. Consider it as a designer option, while assessing the actual garment’s fabric, cut and price separately from its brand positioning.
- Tom Ford: FashionBeans identifies Western shirts as a luxury option from the label. That makes it a more distinctive style choice than a conventional office shirt; suitability depends on your wardrobe and occasion.
What the dated UK price examples can—and cannot—tell you

A practical way to narrow the shortlist
- Name the occasion first. Decide whether the shirt is for daily smart-casual wear, a formal setting, warm weather, or casual weekends.
- Choose the category and fabric. For an Oxford, check that the product’s fabric and collar suit the use you have in mind. For linen, decide whether you want a relaxed warm-weather silhouette. For a polo or tee, make sure that level of formality fits the setting.
- Check the actual cut and measurements. Brand names and broad labels do not tell you how a particular shirt will fit. Review the current product’s size chart and details, especially collar and sleeve measurements for a formal shirt.
- Assess design separately from performance. A bold pattern, unusual fabric, luxury positioning or classic styling may be exactly what you want. None of those descriptions, by itself, proves durability or comfort.
- Verify local price and availability. Confirm the current stock, size range, price and return terms for your market before buying. The prices above come from UK guides and are not evidence of current US listings.
Which style is most popular?
The cited guides do not provide a survey or other population data establishing one most popular men’s shirt style. Oxford shirts recur across the recommendations and are a practical smart-casual comparison point, but that is not proof that they are the most popular style overall. The useful choice is the one that fits the setting: Oxford for many smart-casual outfits, a dress shirt when greater formality is needed, linen for warm weather, and tees or polos for casual basics.
